"I'd like to give out a good recommendation for Dr. Cristo. He actually listens and has done a great job with my condition. I recommend Dr. Cristo. I finally feel I've found someone who listens. C.Harmon"
"**PREGNANT WOMEN PLEASE READ!!*** So I really wasn’t going to say anything, but after my family and coworkers urged me to do so, I have to say SOMETHING. So I’ve been doing virtual visits here for the last 2 years. Everything was okay at first, but it seemed like instead of meds being changed when they weren’t working, they were just hiked up in dosage. I became pregnant in January unexpectedly, and when I informed my psychiatrist of the pregnancy, I was told to stop my medications cold turkey (for background, I’m bipolar 1 and should NOT be unmedicated under any circumstances). I was also told to get off my antidepressant which I had been on during a previous pregnancy. I finally got back on my antidepressant at about 4 months pregnant. Come my next appointment booked a whole 3 months out, I had taken a leave of absence from work due to non functioning depression (I informed my psychiatrist of this hoping to get an earlier appointment than 3 months out, but was rejected and told to wait until my scheduled appointment). At my appointment, I was told “your depression got worse because only taking an antidepressant with bipolar disorder doesn’t do anything”…okay she why did I have to spend 3 months struggling when I could have been given an antipsychotic at my last appointment? I was prescribed an antipsychotic and waited a whole week on it before being told there were “too many hoops to jump through” (word for word from nurse) with insurance and I was prescribed lexapro instead (an antidepressant on top of my current antidepressant. Not an antipsychotic like I needed for my health). When I received my medication, it said on the bottle “not for use in 3rd trimester”… I had informed my psychiatrist that I was indeed in the 3rd trimester. Called the psychiatrist and got a nurse (I never got to actually speak to my psychiatrist about this new medication personally) and she said the medication was fine. I called my OBGYN to confirm and they said Zoloft was the recommended antidepressant for pregnancy (not once was I offered this by my psychiatrist). The obgyn told me if my psychiatrist prescribed the medication then it was okay. I started taking lexapro and Wellbutrin as instructed. Here’s where the fun started. I was at work and suddenly couldn’t breathe. My heart was racing, my pupils grew, and I started projectile vomiting. I ended up passing out at work and going through these symptoms for 2 hours, until I had to be picked up to be brought home. I called my psychiatrist (who of course never called me back personally and had a nurse do it), and was told I’d hear back from my psychiatrist very soon. I also called my OBGYN who informed me I was suffering from Serotonin Syndrome. Upon further investigation from one of my coworkers, she had found online from multiple medical website sources that the two medications I was prescribed were NOT TO BE TAKEN TOGETHER AT ALL. I didn’t hear from my psychiatrist for 6 whole hours about my emergency case, and when I did, it was a nurse who informed me “Dr._____ is very upset you had this reaction. It doesn’t happen very often” and then immediately followed with “oh and we aren’t liable for this mix up and it wasn’t our fault”. So there was no actual concern for what happened to me, they just didn’t want to get in trouble for being so negligent with prescriptions. It rubbed me wrong, and I ended up submitting a report with the medical board in hopes that this doesn’t happen to anyone else. It was scary, and I thought I was going to die. I was very thankful when I recovered in the next few days. If you are pregnant, or even if you are not, HEED THE 1 STAR REVIEWS. READ THEM ALL. There is a trend in negligence and lack of compassion. I will be reporting to the hospital itself as well after much consideration. And yes, I shouldn’t have taken a medication that conflicted with my current medical state (being in the third trimester), but I blindly trusted medical professionals who steered me wrong, and I am extremely upset. DO NOT GO HERE, ITS A DEATH TRAP!!"
"I called to get scheduled as a new patient & was told that I need a referral to be seen. Sure, I had my therapist send a referral the next day. I then called again after the referral was sent & was told i actually needed an internal referral. Had I been told that the first time I wouldn’t have wasted a business day trying to get in with this business. Poor communication & didn’t seem to care that important information wasn’t relayed. Likely don’t provide adequate services since not even the receptionist can get it right. Do not recommend based on my experience."
"The best medical practice in Charlotte. The customer service far exceeds what you’d expect from a doctor’s office. Jennifer B is a scheduling logistics wizard who is always happy to help accommodate my busy travel schedule. She goes above and beyond to make appointments work around my schedule, when I’m my experience it’s usually the other way around at a doctor’s office. She’s always friendly and has patience with me even though she’d have every right to be annoyed and frustrated when I’m always calling to move around visits and throw off her calendar (I know I would be annoyed! Haha)."
"The situation with my medication and the supply shortage is insane. My Doctor asked me to call the pharmacies myself because it's too much time on her staff to call the pharmacies ahead of time to ask. For one, at one point, the pharmacies in my area (I no longer live in Charlotte but still talk to My Doctor thanks to telemedicine) said that they don't divulge that information over the phone. And, my area was dealing with shortages as early as 2021. But, when she asked me to make the call myself this month, the pharmacies have been giving me that information. ONLY PROBLEM IS, that they tell me on that day that they have it. My Doctor doesn't approve the request until the following day. And, whenever the prescription request gets to the pharmacy, I notice that nothing is happening so I call to ask and they tell me that they don't have it. One of two things are happening: 1) My Doctor is taking so long to get the prescription request sent that someone else beat me to it. 2) These people who are answering the phone aren't giving me accurate information regarding availability. I don't think that if the hospital staff called, that they would be doing this to them. But, that has been the case for me. I don't know what else to do about it except write bad reviews for all of the pharmacies that gave me bad information. My medication already ran out this week, but I have been calling the pharmacies since last week. Also, there was a situation where I wanted to change the pharmacies and My Doctor cancelled the wrong prescription request and approved it for one that didn't have it. That was also an issue."
