"I am not a bar person I like silence and conversation unfortunately not available in bars now a days Instead I found myself interested in board games I am planning to frequent this place for hear onwards All I can say is thank you"
"Last week when I visited, I noticed that the bartenders here didn't seem to speak English and they didn’t understand English, especially the one with brown hair wearing a hoodie. And I also observed that the glasses at the bar were quite dirty and messy, with some even having insects inside ……. I don't know how the previous positive reviews came about."
"I've been coming here on and off for a year. Normally I'm solo and love bumping into patrons who frequent other local bars. My low rating is 100% about a little scam they run when they think a patron is drunk and unfortunately it did not work on me. Let's walk through it. A normal thing you encounter in Flushing is great deal on individual cocktails and whole bottles. It's usually buy 1 get 1 but the catch is a hidden fee not mentioned on the walls or menu of the bar. A few nights ago I decided to partake in the buy 1 get 1 for bottles. I did so after asking about the details. Here's where things went south. I did ask before purchasing if a reopening fee would be added if I purchased a bottle and kept the extra on reserve. The only Latina bartender said I had nothing to worry about. I proceeded to buy a bottle for 190 expecting to have whatever was left of it on reserve and the second bottle. On night one I finished 1/3 of the first bottle. Tonight I finished a little more than another 1/3. To be clear some of it was consumed by both of the bartenders working tonight WITHOUT my permission. I actually had to stop them from drining my personal stash and they caught an attitude because other regular customers always share. I stated very clearly I don't mind sharing liquor with bartenders but it would be nice to recieve something in return. This is after they consumed for glasses which is crazy because I was drinking my cocktails out of a shot glass. They gave me exactly 1 shot of Jameson after I announced my feelings. Anyway later in the night as they were closing the bar I was presented with a $33 bill. I was confused because I didn't consume anything outside of my current bottle. They had another patron explain to me that is it a normal fee to open the bottle again and any complaints should go to management. He also made it clear that it's a fee every single time you open the bottle. I was okay with paying the fee but asked for the opportunity to take my bottles on reserve home. Should be fair right? After I asked bother bartenders stopped speaking english and used a customer to speak to me. Now they are waiting for payment but refuse to give me my bottles. I spent roughly 10 minutes or more explaining I dont mind paying but would like the bottles I paid for because its only fair. They refused. I started to document everything on my phone taking photo and video once they started doing the same. To be clear I was not refusing the bill. I paid it and revealed my payment confirmation that they ignored to the bartenders and patron. This weird standoff continued where additional photo/ video was taken by them of me and I replied doing the same. Eventually the patron who does not work there convinced them to release what I paid for and the bartenders quickly turned off all lights at the bar with several people still in it. I acknowledge this is a long negative rant but believe me when I say outside of this terrible interaction I actually enjoy coming here frequently. My last straw with this interaction was the unnecessary picture and or video plus being ignored by the actual employees. The picutes I've added are of the lovely patron in the blue hoodie who went above and beyond to translate and help come to an agreement since the bartenders were ignoring me for the majority of this interaction. The other are the bartenders themselves. The more hostile being the lady in black. My feedback is this...just put on the menu or wall the way you handle buying bottles and reserving them for future use. It would've reduced this interaction to 1 minute. Also ensure you have staff handle issues with bills and not frequent patrons. How I was treated was the issue and not the amount owed. I never refused paying the bill. The only hold up was your systems being down which I offered to help fix several times (it's my expertise)."
"I recently made a trip to Flushing and was looking for a local bar to hang out at and found Provence Bar. This cozy bar had a unique atmosphere that transported me straight to the heart of the South of France. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with a warm welcome and a menu. The bartenders were knowledgeable and friendly, making excellent recommendations for both food and drinks. The drinks were perfectly crafted and the food was delicious, made with the freshest ingredients. I highly recommend this bar, even if you're just passing through from out of town like myself from Philadelphia."
"I recently had the pleasure of visiting Provence Bar while on a trip to Flushing, New York. As a resident of Maryland, I was blown away by the cozy, authentic atmosphere of this bar. The drinks were top-notch, and the bartenders were knowledgeable and friendly. The French-inspired theme was amazing. The live music was a delightful bonus, and I even got up to dance a little bit. I highly recommend Provence Bar to anyone looking for a great night out in Flushing. I can't wait to visit again!"
