Reviews of Center for Emotional Health - Ballantyne Stonecrest
"I am so glad I came across this office. At first it wasn’t that good but after getting the group it has now. Maddie, Amanda, laigha and the front staff is such a great help. When my family first joined I was not happy because we went through several providers and the front office staff was not helpful. But as of today the crew they have now and the providers my family see now are AMAZING! Trust me we have 4 of us that see two different providers in this office so it’s like a home away from home. So glad to have this people they have now!"
"Seeing a lot of negative on here and would like to remind everyone that people with bad experiences are MUCH more likely to leave a review than people with good ones. I've been with CEH since I was a teenager and while turnover rate used to be pretty high, the front desk staff has always been friendly with me and the therapists and psychiatrists I've seen have been nice and work with me on both copay costs and med management. Not every patient is going to vibe with every therapist, but the staff here are willing to help."
"After years of trying to get my mom to seek therapy and finally convincing her, she had gone to this office with a specific therapist that had great reviews from someone that we know personally. After going for a couple weeks her appointment was abruptly cancelled and she was sent a letter that she was discharged from the office due to “inappropriate behavior.” After sending an email asking why and how this happened there was no response. No one ever returned the emails or phone calls to elaborate on what “inappropriate behavior” had accrued. I found this is highly unprofessional as well as disrespectful. I also found it extremely disheartening for patients that were let go just a day before their scheduled appointment. I wasn’t going to make a review about this situation as this was a couple months ago. I am writing this review now because this has now also happened to my young 14 year old cousin. He and his mother had no issues up until a couple weeks before being discharged. They had been seeing a specific therapist for months. They ended up moving to this office so my cousin and his mother began therapy here. They had regularly scheduled appointments that had now gotten moved around by the scheduling department. (The appointments were very consistent same time, same day, every week) This was frustrating to his mother considering her tight schedule as a single parent of four kids two of which who are under 8. After his mother called and advocated to get this fixed. About a week or so later his appointment was cancelled the day before his regularly scheduled appointment. His mom getting a call that they could no longer see him and could not elaborate as to why. His mom sending a very long and detailed email asking why this may have happened. She never got a response. (What a surprise) Then getting a letter stating that he was discharged due to “inappropriate behavior.” The letter addressed to his mother in highlighter marker -which is extremely unprofessional and in my opinion disrespectful. The exact same letter that my mother received with the exact same wording with absolutely no detailed reasoning or explanation as to what “inappropriate behavior” was the cause of the discharge. He had a great relationship with his therapist which is saying so much for him. He is at risk for a mental health crisis at any moment and he was just dropped like a bad habit from this office. Getting a 14 year old to see a new therapist is not an easy task. It isn’t an easy task for anyone for that matter. To me that doesn’t seem like an office that truly cares about their patients well being. They can’t even tell their NOW former patients what they did wrong to get discharged. Unless you would like to get discharged from this office due to “inappropriate behavior” I do not suggest coming here seeking any help there are plenty of other great offices in the Charlotte area that I would suggest you check out before going to this one."
"very excited to not have to come back here. The psychiatrists were fine just with a crazy turnover rate so it always felt like I was seeing someone new. My issue was always with a staff, not very friendly or considerate. “Family died and you have to cancel, I need your money anyway” f off"
"Horrible front desk and office fee rules that are not ethical. This place should get 0 stars. I payed for 30 min appointment ahead of time and called the office to ask for help to find the location at the day of appointment, and told them I will arrive shortly as I had the wrong location. I arrived 9 min late and the front office said that the doctor refuses to see me because I was 9 min late, and their policy is that after 5 min you can’t be seen, although the appointment still had more than 20 min left and was fully payed. I asked to scheduled another appointment and was scheduled a new one. I arrived early to that appointment and was told that if I want to see the doctor, I have to pay a cancellation fee of $85 for the last appointment that they didn’t accept me, on top of the appointment cost. As I didn’t cancel the previous appointment and it was them that didn’t want to see me although I fully payed for it and was in the office to be seen, I didn’t understand why would I need to pay a cancellation fee for appointment I wanted to keep. I was extremely stressed as I wanted to already see a doctor and when that last meeting was scheduled, no one told me that I will have to pay a fee on top of the appointment cost. Trying to see a doctor at this office is a horrible experience because of the front desk and the extra fee rules. When I understood that they won’t let me in if I won’t pay a fee, I was extremely stressed and was talking loud but respectfully, because I couldn’t believe they are turning me back asking for money for a payed meeting that they canceled although I was there wishing to be seen. At my first appointment with this office, I payed ahead of time and joined the scheduled call on time, but the doctor didn’t join. I had to call the office to check, thinking it may be a scam company, and they asked the doctor to join. My meeting started so late for no excuse and when it was them being late for no reason, they still kept their money and provided a shorter call than scheduled. People who work in such offices should be ethical and have empathy and caring skills. I am now reading reviews and seeing many complains about the front desk and am not surprised after my experience with this office."
