"Becoming a parent is both an overwhelming and joyful experience. When our first child was born, I was filled with a mix of emotions, and the uncertainty of the situation left me feeling physically and emotionally drained. However, the incredible nursing and support staff took such care to ensure my recovery and put us at ease through caring with warmth, confidence and continued reassurance. I can honestly say that there was not a single individual we interacted with who doesn’t deserve our gratitude!"
"Dr. Rimawi is an absolutely incredible provider. When faced with a high risk pregnancy, he is exactly the person you'd hope to have planning your care. His compassion and kindness is truly unmatched, and his bedside manner is unparalleled. He took his time at each visit walking us through a second scan he performed himself, explaining everything he was looking at in great detail. If I ever had a question, he was prompt to respond quickly and would often give me a call instead of replying via MyChart. There were times that he called me to discuss concerns or test results after he'd left work for the day, and even days when he was off. He noticed I was admitted to the hospital while he was checking my chart just to see how I was doing, and he gave me a call to see how I was. Most recently, he was checking my chart again just to see how I was doing, saw I had my baby, and called to congratulate my husband and I - even though he was supposed to be on paternity leave as his wife had just had their newest baby the week before! WakeMed is truly fortunate to have a specialist as absolutely incredible as Dr. Rimawi, and all of his patients are equally lucky they have the privilege of being his patient. Thank you, Dr. Rimawi!"
"I went to MFM as a high risk pregnancy case. The whole team of MFM were very helpful. Specially my provider Dr. Rimawi. He is very knowledgeable, explained every steps clearly and confidently. Dr. Rimawi made my pregnancy journey much more stress free. Even when we have to take emergency surgery decision he was supportive and informed us about all aspects. Thanks again to whole MFM team."
"I don’t usually post bad reviews, but this was not the first time I’ve experienced a less than average encounter at this office. When stating this whole endeavor, you are supposed to fill in the information in regards to last period to determine gestation. The information was not conveyed and I had informed the desk, the nurses AND the doctor I was further along than they had in my chart. When I had my first appointment I was asked AGAIN for my last period dates and when I provided them the information, it was still incorrect and the doctor mentioned we were 10 weeks instead of 8. The first ultrasound itself was fine, but the office advises you arrive early to allow for “checkin” which can be done on MyChart. We then sat in the waiting area for beyond our scheduled appointment time. For first time pregnancies, do not expect much, no check ups, no doctor check ins and that could be a COVID thing - but even if you’re fine, no one goes out of their way to ask. We were supposed to be getting another ultrasound this week to determine gender. We we’re running behind, so I called to ensure if we needed to be rescheduled, that we didn’t have to drive all the way to Cary. We called three times and no one answered the phone. When we arrived, we then waited an additional 5 to 10 minutes waiting for someone to service us at the check-in desk. When she finally came out I informed the lady we had called and her only response was we would need to be rescheduled due to us being outside of the 15 minute window. During the process of rescheduling our appointment she gave other options for another offices, and when I informed her we could only do appointments before 1 PM, she continue to quote me appointments for after that time. I had reiterated at least four times of our scheduling requirements and finally was sent home with an appointment for 2 weeks from our original appointment. I understand the high volume of pregnant women but the extremely restricted office hours probably doesn't help with that. I could not imagine my providers being located in the offices that only operate two days a week, and that may be WakeMeds way to regulate the office during COVID, HOWEVER, I’m sure I’m not the only first time mama who works during the day, but I would like to know how our baby is growing and if everything is healthy. The lack of communication alone is means for us to move to another provider and the very dry interactions with the staff just leaves a worse taste in the mouth."
"Firstly, we are extremely happy with the care with our first baby back in 2017. That is the primary reason for continuing to choose Wakemed this time too - mainly Pamela Lapidus Borden and Dr. Diana Spahlinger McCarthy were amazing. Not to say others were not in our mind but these two persons were at the top of the list for me to consider WakeMed again. Thanks to both of them and all the staff of the WakeMed for their tremendous support and professionalism."
