Transactors Improv Co. is a renowned improvisational theater located at 100 Westbury Court in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Formerly known as Transactors, we are the oldest and longest-running improv theater in the South. Our performances blend comedy and drama, focusing on emotion, physicality, character development, collaboration, and most importantly, fun.

One of our unique shows, inspired by Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales and the Dead Kennedys' Police Truck, involves suspects sharing their stories on their way to jail in a paddy wagon. Another popular show, Word Jazz, features improvised scenes based on monologues and live music by a talented four-piece combo. Audience suggestions drive the action, leading to improvised songs and even some old standards being incorporated into the mix.
