Dupont Circle

"Great "starter" apartment complex. I have given it 3-stars for a few reasons: 1. The rent continues to increase, however nothing is being done to the actual apartments to improve them enough to justify the increase. 2. Maintenance does not take job request marked "Urgent" with urgency. My sink was not draining and for 5 days I waited for them to come and check. On the 6th day I paid a plumber to come and fix it, it took the plumber all of 15 mins to fix the issue. 3. The parking lot needs to be repaved. There are huge potholes in the parking lot that will do a number on your tires if you are not careful. 4. No regular exterior exterminator visits. I informed maintenance when I first moved in that there were several active wasp nest outside my apartment. I saw them come by on the ring camera and just looked at one. They replied to my request that they weren't active nest. Eventually the wasp situation got so bad that I took a can of WD-40 and sprayed all the nest around my apartment door (there were 4 total). 5. The office communication is very poor in my opinion. I was suddenly charged a month to month lease rent price during the mist of covid. When I asked what changed they said I had not renewed my lease per the letter left on my door. Being that I WFH and have a ring camera I checked the footage and no one ever left a letter on my door at all. Aside from the above listed situations I don't see this as a bad beginner apartment. I have recommended several tenants to stay here within caution of the above listed. Hopefully, they are working on bettering the apartments entirely and not trying to break the pockets of the occupants in the process."

"I have lived here for 4 years now and it is a great location and neighborhood. no central air or a/c in bedroom tho and the rent is increasing every year. This is a great starter apt or for ppl in school"

"The community is nice, quiet and peaceful but the professionalism of management and office staff has DRASTICALLY diminished in my time living at DuPont Circle and it is the reason for my leaving. Staff is very unprofessional, unpleasant, not helpful and rude. I cannot count how many times I’ve been cut off by an employee while trying to get clarification on something, I was completely ignored, talked down to or a call was not returned. I also had the issue of me being almost evicted when I had paid my rent already and my payment had been sitting on the desk for a week. I had to call the office and spoke with Bryce who is the same person I had gave my payment to the week prior to, to see why I was at risk for being evicted when he realized my payment was still sitting on the desk. That’s unacceptable. When I spoke with Sylvia Scott the property manager in person the following day about this eviction issue she stated that my account was cleared from eviction status and said that she would send me an emailed copy of my ledger showing it was cleared but when I called back after not receiving the email she had stated that she would have it fixed and that she had to post the payment first in order to then clear my ledger which means she had lied to me about my account being back in order when I spoke to her in person. I also called their corporate office regarding the issue and was told that “things happen”. It is COMPLETELY unacceptable that my payment was not posted to my account immediately when it was received and this “things happen” is not a valid excuse for me being almost evicted. This is the main reason I decided to leave DuPont. I had also place a maintenance request that was never tended too last year. Mold was growing on the ceiling and I had called multiple times regarding the issue. A tech came but I had been calling about it for weeks and no one came so I had already had it taken care of myself personally. The maintenance tech stated that they would put in a request to do a treatment and that never happened. As I said I took care of it myself. I was also involved in a car accident last week where one of their maintenance technicians had hit my car in the cul-de-sac and now my entire passenger door is busted. Ticon properties will never see me again as a tenant at ANY of their properties unless something is done about office staff and management. Great community, great mindful neighbors and living conditions but TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE management."

"Great place to live. Maintenance people if you need anything always respond quickly and efficiently. Very good use of space."

"Edit: Thanks for the obligatory congenial response, but I already tried that some time ago and you already said you don't care, so please don't try and make things right now that I have given you a negative review online. I've already moved on, and I strongly doubt that I will ever rent to live in another Ticon Properties apartment. New management is seriously need! You can't treat people like they are nothing just because they have lower income. I don't know if the folks in the more expensive apartments get the same treatment, which is unlikely, but you guys are no longer my problem. Never. Again."
