"Dishonest. We have been searching for a new home to rent and viewed a property this past weekend. We were told by the showing agent that this property had been empty for months and had no other applicants. We submitted all of the ridiculous amount of information they required for an application as well as about $200 worth of application fees the same day, just to be told days later that "they'd chosen another applicant". No explanation, no offer of refund for the money. My boyfriend called the office to ask about it and they literally asked "oh are you looking to rent it?". We can only assume they're using this as a scam to steal money from people. They had no other properties to offer us for our application nor returned my communication about even a partial refund of fees. I am incredibly disappointed with this experience, and we now have to start our entire home search over again, having wasted nearly a week with this company. I wouldn't trust them. *Edit* I'm unable to respond to the owner's comment below. We explained that we had a paperwork issue with the doctor's office, and literally offered to pay the pet fees anyways as well as offering to pay the original rent amount. We assumed that once we paid the application fee, the property would be held while our application was reviewed, like everywhere else I have ever rented. You could have reached out to let us know you had another application. You are dishonest and uncaring about people who are desperately trying to find a new home. The only other property offer is literally 45 minutes away and is not an option. Give us a refund and I'll remove this; otherwise, too bad."
