"I loved living at New Providence Park, would still be there if I could. Ten years in apartments, New Providence Park was hands down the best! Office and maintenance staff great! They answered my emails within an hour and maintenance requests same day except when my AC went out. I had a new compressor and AC within 24 hours. The grounds are kept clean. Buildings power washed and I have never seen a trash and recycling area kept so neat. The cooking classes and other socials are wonderful. You can walk to grocery store, vets and soon the library. Location is great, so close to just about anything you're looking for. I highly recommend New Providence Park ❣️"
"Neighborhood is just going to trash. The residents are becoming more and more obnoxious. The park has been closed for months so children roam the neighborhood now. They knock on random doors asking people for drinks or food. They leave their bicycles everywhere(laying across breezeways, sidewalks, handicapped spaces) Management seems to care more about cooking classes than they care about the amenities we pay for. Residents have been asking for years for bike racks. They set up one rack with room for about 4 bikes for a complex with 252 apartments. They are quick to throw bikes away or fine you if it is left outside your apartment. We have protected water habitats on property that are being destroyed by trash and children knocking down the trees and grasses. Many of us have been asking for years for more accessible stations for dog cleanup. Nobody is walking across the property to find bags and a basket. So they just bring their dogs behind their building, let them do their business and no bother cleaning it up. Making out fields unuseable for play. What are we paying +$1600 per month for? Why do they keep upping rent every year even though they make 0 noticeable changes? There are giant cockroaches(affectionately called "palmetto bugs" they are roaches people. Look them up). I kill at least 3 a week. They sit in your door jam and then enter your home when you open the door). I know multiple other residents with the same issue in different buildings. The 1 dumpster for 256 apartments is constantly full. And the recycling area inaccessible. We have some of the harshest speedbumps. Doesn't matter if you go slow, you will still feel it. We came back from Florida last year and when we hit that first speedbump we all agreed it was the worst part of our 12+ hour trip. They painted the workout room, built a fire pit that nobody knows how to use, and put up shelves in the old laundry room for packages and then decided that was worth charging an additional $200 per month(about $25,000 per year increase if you include all apartments) Let's not forget that they will shut the pool down a week prior to pool parties that nobody asked for. And for some reason the pool area is nice and lit up, even though there is no swimming allowed after sunset. There are way way better and much newer apartments in New Hanover County with much better amenities. And many of these other complexes pride themselves in providing their residents with the ability to have an active lifestyle while on property. Pros:some of the neighbors are really nice. But some of them are also crackheads who like to do crackhead stuff at 2am like leave their motorcycle running for an hour while they hang out on their buddies porch getting high. Or get into fights with other parents because they never taught their child not to take what doesn't belong to them."
"Lacey, Annie, Tyler and Tabatha all make this apartment complex fun and an enjoyable place to live. Brandon and Ivey in the maintenance department make sure the grounds are clean and repairs in the apartment are done in an efficient manner."
"Updated Annie reached out to us and we did come up with a resolution that suited everyone and she was very sweet and understood our reasoning for being upset. My husband and I were there 3 years almost never late with rent never had issues we dealt with the 200 rent increases everytime we renewed and this time when were up to renew my husband had a relocation of his job which we were notified of June 29 2023 so we were not able to give the 60 day required notice per newprovidence not NC we notified them July 6th of our intent to move our lease end date was aug 6th so technically thats 30 days but due to the circumstances of not knowing when his job was going to notify him if he was going to be relocated we didnt give 60 days notice but had we not relocated our intention was to stay at new providence. We are disappointed that even though we moved out July 29th that we are still expected to pay month to month rate for August even though our lease is up and we are not living there. The amt quoted that we would be responsible for is $1900 range for 1bedroom apt all due to the fact we couldn't give 60 days notice for things we had no control over we emailed and called corporate with no response from them because we dont think this is at all fair no matter what lease says when your job relocates you those issues should be considered as extenuating circumstances period"
