"Their foods were cool (although the ingredients were not diverse), but the service was served very poorly. The woman at the counter tipped herself for 20%, without even asking and she signed transaction by herself. I wonder what they did enough to get tip. strongly recommend to avoid this place."

The level of service I received was absolutely appalling, and I strongly advise against patronizing this establishment. When I placed my order I did not add any tip. Shockingly, the person taking my order outright refused to accept it, simply because I didn't want to add a tip in advance. This behavior was utterly unacceptable, as tipping is entirely at the discretion of the customer and should not be mandatory. I requested to speak with a manager to address this issue and to clarify their tipping policy. However, instead of assisting me or trying to resolve the matter, the employee rudely informed me that I couldn't speak with the manager and that I would not be served. I was stunned by this unprofessional and disrespectful response, as it demonstrated a complete lack of customer service skills and a disregard for basic courtesy. As a paying customer, I expect to be treated with respect and courtesy, regardless of my tipping preferences. Based on my experience, I strongly advise potential customers to avoid Wayla in DUMBO Brooklyn. The unprofessional behavior and lack of respect shown towards customers are clear indicators that this establishment does not value its patrons. Spare yourself the frustration and disappointment by choosing an alternative venue for your dining needs. Wayla, you have lost a customer for life. Your disrespectful behavior and refusal to accept my order simply because I didn't want to add a tip demonstrate a complete lack of professionalism and customer service skills. It is my hope that this review serves as a cautionary tale to others who may consider dining at your establishment."

"Delicious Thai food in reasonable small portions. The prices here are either high because of location or because of inflation but they are high. My bowl of beef soup was $21 I believe. It was worth it. I was surprised how small it was but ultimately grateful as I am trying to lose weight. The curry was delicious. I would have preferred more than a tablespoon of greens as well. This was my first time at Time Out Market. The market is definitely cool and you are surrounded by a bar as well as other food stalls."

"Running a restaurant is not easy especially business was hard hit by the pandemic, so I seldom give a less than 3 stars review on any restaurant. If they are not good, I will not post it and give them a chance. The reason I give a low rating on this Thai restaurant because I want other customers aware when they pay the bill by credit card. All the restaurants inside the Time Out Market are self service. You select a restaurant, place your order at the cashier and pay, and pick up your order by yourself when it is ready. We walked around and finally selected the Wayla Thai Food. We ordered the Spicy Basil Beef Fried Rice $21 and Khao Soy (noodle) with Beef $22. Total was $43 plus $3.81 tax. When I paid by credit card, that Verifone credit card machine has already preset 15%, 18%, 20%, and Custom service charge on the screen. I am a good tipper and always give at less 20% gratuity to the waiter/waitress unless the service is really bad. For this self service food court like dining at McDonald's, I did hit the 15% button. By looking at the receipt, I realized they charge the gratuity including the sales tax which they shouldn't. Gratuity % should be calculated before sales tax. I went to the cashier later and ordered the Thai Ice Tea. The signs said regular size is $3.5 and large size is $4. I asked how big is regular vs large. Cashier said they now only sell large size but that large size is so small as you can see the photo I put the drink next to a 5.78" tall iPhone 13 for comparison. This time I decided not to give gratuity because I just walked up there to buy a drink, but that $4 drink ended up being charged $5.23. I didn't realize it until I went home and checked my credit card account (she didn't give me a receipt). I calculated it and found out I was charged 20% gratuity even I didn't hit the gratuity button. Food portion is good and this is a plus. The noodle at the bottom of the bowl of the Khao Soy with beef is same as the Pad Thai noodle but was too soft, but this order tastes good. The Spicy Basil Beef Fried Rice is salty. Both order were quite greasy and the food was shined by lots of cooking oil on top of it."

"After browsing the options at Timeout Market, this was the second place we decided to stop for lunch. We just tried the Pad Thai, but there were many dishes I was interested in trying. The Pad Thai was delicious and definitely made me interested in trying more of their food. It's definitely worth a stop if you're at the food hall!"
