Carolina Inn & Suites of Lake Norman

"This is a great affordable, clean, and safe place to stay. If that is what you need, this is the place for you. It is not a 5-star resort and I was not expecting it to be. The room with a queen size bed was spacious with a small table and 2 chairs. The bed was not luxurious, but it was easy to sleep on. The temperature control was via the unit under the window and was a little louder than I would have wanted it to be. Front desk staff was polite courteous and easy to work with. I needed to extend my stay and it was an easy enough process. I liked paying less than other hotels literally right across the road."

"The front desk person was nice and the lobby was clean. The room I got was clean and neat. It came with a microwave and a fridge. It is conveniently located next to restaurants like Cracker Barrel and Chic-Fil-A. There were a few things that needed improvement. After a long day of driving, I was looking forward to a nice hot shower. The shower head had a mere trickle of water about the size of a quarter coming out even adjusting it through the 5 or so settings it had. The faucet into the tub was powerful so I suspect that there may have been a flow restricter on it that cut it down too much. I mentioned it to the desk person on the way out. I also found that the bed made a metalic "booming" sound when you got off of it like a drum. Fortunately, it didn't make noises when I moved around in the bed. The AC unit was loud but that is pretty much the norm at hotels so I can't fault it for that. My main concern was the entrance door. You can see from the picture that it doesn't look like it was securely in place and definitely not sealed. The complimentary breakfast was OK with an assortment of items like cereal, muffins and fruit. Overall, I'd consider staying at it again but I'd ask to see the room first."
