Five Below

"Terrible checkout process/customer service. Today was my first time at the new store in Hornell. The checkout setup led me to believe it was self checkout. I also thought this because as I stood in line waiting, two customers were checking out while one worker stood by and watched. When one of the customers was done, I walked over and began checking out as I do it seems in most stores. The worker standing there said to me, “Ma'am this is not self checkout”. So I apologized and said I didn't realize and proceeded to bring my items to the now empty register where she was standing. She then told me to go back to the register I was at and she would watch me check out. I then told her I was confused, which I honestly was at that point. Then she told me that I had to scan my own items, though only when she was watching. In my opinion, that is what I would consider self checkout and she needs to be better trained to manage the checkout process. I was so frustrated that I ended up putting the items I had on the counter and left. I actually have to thank her because she saved me $20 on items that I really didn’t need and weren’t actually below $5."

"This store is an absolute joke you have self check out but you have the employees standing over your shoulder as you put in your pins and what not for your cards which isn’t not cool at all and there are more than one self check out no need to wait in line when there are self checks open! I would rather drive all the way to Horseheads before I take my self to this five below! Things need to be fixed and addressed no one is stealing a thing and no need to have some one over my shoulder while I check out Walmart don’t even do that! Make some changes"

"The staff won’t let you self check out in the LITERAL self checkout registers, then they’ll answer your surveys for you. Poor experience, I’d rather drive to Geneseo where the store is run correctly."

"The store is small feeling isle are to close to each other. The check-out is a joke self check out but have to have someone ring your purchase up just put register in that works control make it go a lot easier and smoother. Definitely needs rethinking on layout and the checking out area."

"Not 5 below I seen stuff in there $10 and $8 even one that was $5.55 at least they had new stuff that some of it is from Japan"
