"Not recommended due to people often drinking glass bottle drinks and leaving them everywhere and danger to step on and get hurt as well as broken glass shards in the sand And people just leave trash everywhere even though there are plenty of trash cans available at parking Not recommended if going would need the beach shoes to protect if getting wet when it's warmer scenario. While dogs can go they run risk of hurting themselves due to the trash and hazards left everywhere"

"Definitely a family friendly spot on the river. I've only ever parked here to jump on the Neuse River Greenway, but there were plenty of families enjoying picnics and letting their kids play in the River. Luckily, the river generally tests as safe up around this park. It's when you start going south of Anderson Point Park where Crabtree Creek & Walnut Creek dump all of Raleigh's trash water run off into the Neuse where everything south of it has unsafe bacteria leaves. It would be great if Wake County could build a water filtration plant where these creeks empty into the Neuse."
