"Beautiful outside decoration sticking out from other buildings. Warm, “upscale tree house feeling” inside, characteristic of 787 brand. Upstairs is packed, but very cute and cozy. Feels like a hostel vibe, or hidden gem college library. They didn’t have drip coffee, but offered to make me pourover with espresso beans, or any beans I wanted for price of drip coffee. A nice substitute. The barista made me the whiskey beans as a pourover. Process involves soaking pre-roasted beans in whiskey, which feels a bit like disguise/cheating of beans, but I tried it. Fairly weak smell, and decently distinct flavor, but reminds me more of artificial coffees (eg, hazelnut). Large star anis flavor profile. The 787 normal drip coffee (at other locations) or other premium, traceable specialty coffee is better: you can’t beat good high quality coffee. Check out Little Collin’s pourovers (Onyx ones are great) if you want to taste the unique smells and flavors of great coffee. Coffee score: 3/5. Everything else score: 5/5. Overall score: 4/5."

"While visiting the area, my girlfriend and I dropped by 787 and were undecided on what to order. However, Nadia made our experience truly exceptional with her fantastic energy and top-notch customer service. I ordered the hot chocolate, and it was SO good!! It tasted like a warm chocolate chip cookie. We'll definitely be returning again!!"

"Great Coffeeshop with excellent customer service, and great coffee options. I love that they have Coffee Beans infused with a hint of flavor so it adds a nice touch of Vanilla Bean (Which I got today) without having to add syrup to my latte. The upstairs is a rare site in NYC: A quiet and cozy place to sit and work. Usually I have to go to the library, but this secret upstairs area provided the perfect workspace."
