"My wife attempted to shop here, she was told she wasn't allowed without a mask. She told them she medically couldn't wear a mask (missing a lung) but that's not their business. So lost our business. This isn't ok. No unlawful mandate is out and nothing is forced. Not sure is this is the business or this store but we will not be coming back here"
"I ordered two pairs of sneakers online for the BOGO deal. One pair didn’t fit so I came to this store to return them. I asked if I could exchange them for the same priced shoes as the original ones I was returning - before I could even get it out of my mouth the girl ran it through as a return instead of an exchange. They then told me I could pick a pair out the same price and they’d honor it. Both pairs of shoes, the one I returned and new pair, we’re both $49.99. Instead of doing what they said and giving me an equal exchange to honor the BOGO offer, they manually “discounted” my exchange and charged me another $5. I then waited 10 business days and the return never went through. I called and they couldn’t find me in the system, even though I have the rewards account, and told me to call customer care. I did that, waiting over 20 minutes and then was hung up on. So I called back with my receipt, and the manager then looked and saw that my return never went though, to come in and get the cash for it. I went back into the store with my receipt and asked why I was charged more for the same priced items - if I purchased them online I would’ve paid the same amount. They then decided to be rude AF to me, and loud infront of a line of customers making a scene, telling me they’re doing me a favor, that they don’t need to refund me there - that I could’ve just dealt with customer service and wouldn’t give me back the extra money they charged me. I’ve never dealt with such rude employees in my entire life, especially when I did nothing wrong on my end, and I absolutely will be calling customer service again about this."
"I went into Famous Footwear just to browse and didn't expect to find something I liked as I've been looking for a nice pair of sneakers that I really love for a few days now. So my sister and I showed up after work at about 8:30. We immediately got engaged in conversation with both store associates which were both very helpful. 8:55 roles around and the store closes at 9. I insisted I come back when the store was reopened so I wouldn't hold them up as I understand how much it sucks to be held over after a long day at work. Both associates insisted we were fine. Jared (Red) helped me find a style I liked and even suggested some great insoles for me, while his other associate looked up other stores and online for a specific color shoe I had said I liked. They even offered to have Jared meet with a manager from Ithaca to pick up the pair of shoes I liked (which to me was going above and beyond and in no way would I ever expect that). They insisted they didn't want me to leave the store in a pair of shoes I wasn't happy with as I apologized (again) for holding them over. All in all, I walked out of the store with Two pairs of sneakers I loved and a new relationship with two of my new favorite Famous Footwear employees. I ended up spending more than I idealized in my head but I didn't even care because I was THAT pleased with their customer service. Coming from a retail and sales background, it's so nice to see associates who understand that it's about building relationship with your customers. I will definitely be back to see my new favorite associates!"
