"Amazing campground with nicely laid out spots, well designed roads (1 way loops and any crowded turns are traffic circles). The trails, swimming hole area, and scenic views of the river all make it an amazing choice. It's also "in the middle of nowhere" (complete with a lack of cell reception) without being far from anything, as there's a Walmart and restaurants 10 minutes away."

"We loved this campground. It’s not fancy but has everything you need. We stayed in the sycamore loop with hookups and also had direct access to the exercise trail along the river. It’s about a mile to the swimming area. The restrooms aren’t new or updated but they were clean. The camp host was helpful getting us firewood and even brought it to our site. There are multiple water stations and a dumpster at each circle making it super convenient."

"Awesome campground, lots of sites but only 30 with electric. Makes reservations difficult but such is the case with most federal campgrounds. Have stayed 4-5 times and having the river and a running trail right out your door is awesome. Walking down to town is a couple miles, nice walk with dog. Quite. Have not looked at restrooms/showers but my wife said their fine. Very quiet place with little cell reception if any but not their fault. About 20min over to Dupont so not bad, lots of trails around, maybe 15min up to Pisgah Inn."

"Rooms ratings are for the sites. This is a beautiful camp ground. So quiet and the staff who live on site are just wonderful and willing to make your camping experience wonderful. Some trails within the campground and many around it make it perfect for hikers and bikers. And it's location to the river makes it perfect for those swimmers who can brave the cold water and those fisher. :-)"
