"We left a day early...... Our room was not ready at the promised 3pm and felt like housekeeping hurried through as a result, while we waited on the porch. The suite had a strong musty smell and some of the furnishings had definitely seen better days, particularly the couch. We did not find the bed or the pillows at all comfortable; too hard. The linens were dingy, faded and careworn. I spotted spiderwebs over the bed and shower, and dusty picture frames. On the plus side, it was nice to have Direct TV, wifi and a decently appointed kitchen. The surroundings were pretty and peaceful in spite of the proximity to the road. The highlight of our Fall getaway was dinner just down the road at Osteria Del Monte."

"We had a wonderful stay at Black Bear Lodge! Melanie made communication easy. The cottage was clean and had all we needed, even coffee and creamer! The bed was comfortable and the cottage was convenient. We look forward to staying again soon!"

"We enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The owners accommodated us last minute, late in the evening. We were unable to find a hotel that had vacancy and accepted pets. Our intention was to only stay one night. We ended up staying for three and did some hiking in the area to waterfalls."
