"With a new visitors center, the hike to Rainbow falls is now well marked and easy to follow from the parking lot below. It's a moderate hike, so make sure you bring some water in a small backpack with lunch if you want to rest and enjoy this natural beauty before you hike back. I pack a few extra bottles of spring water just in case someone needs some with encouragement to not turn around and go back before they reach the falls. I've repeated this hike twice and have never been disappointed. You can also hike to Turtle falls from Rainbow falls if you want to hike further up the mountain."
"It is about a 3 mile hike round trip. Definitely need hiking boots and don’t forget some water. Hiking sticks would not be a bad idea. Definitely worth the Hike, the Falls are absolutely stunning! we did not go to the Turtleback Falls but it seems to be just a short hike right after rainbow Falls."
"I was not in shape and I had a hard time, but I made it there and back and it was amazing to see. Bring water and food and prepare for the weather. You may get wet shoes at a cheek crossing. Stop to enjoy the tiny wildflowers on the side and don’t do anything dumb like crawl out on the slippery rocks."
"Hiked this with 4 kids under the age of 8 - no problem. Took us about 2 hours. Well maintained, beautiful hike!"
"Beautiful waterfall worth the 3 mile return hike. There is a platform offering a closer view of the falls and it is possible to scramble down to the base. The rainbow comes from the spray which blows from the falls. Take water on the hike as there are some elevation changes."
