"I’m so disappointed in Happy Garden. I have ordered from them religiously for years as my go to for Chinese because the food was mostly pretty good and the prices fair. A friend of mine ordered for me from them through grub hub. We both got a pint of wonton soup, an egg roll, one container of chilli oil to split and a soda which all came out to over $20 so it’s not like they didn’t make money from our order. Upon delivery, we notice one of our soups is missing as well as the chilli oil. So we call back for the soup she sounds annoyed already. Then I mention the chilli oil she said no you have to pay extra for that! Which would’ve never been a problem it’s just my friend must have wrote it in the comments and didn’t realize it was something extra to order. So I said, we’ll pay the .75 cents but not for nothing you forgot half my lunch, would be nice as a .75 cent courtesy. Nope. She took my .75 cents. And she probably didn’t know it was for me since my friend ordered and that I’m a long time customer, who also recommends you to everyone in bay ridge. You just lost so much business over .75 cents because that’s just embarrassing. Shame on you."
"Food is bland, nothing is seasoned. The lady- he she- they seems like she hates her job. and is doing you a favor for ordering from them. Do yourself a favor and order from Panda. It's the only descent spot left in the 70's, even 80's. Taste of China used to be banging until the kids took over, now it's a hit or miss and the delivery guy needs an attitude check."
"I've traveled around China for six weeks, eating all across the country. I'll occasionally even make the 1.5 hour trip to Flushing for dim sum when there are guests to treat. My point is, I know Chinese cuisine pretty well. For American Chinese takeout, this spot will truly make you happy, maybe even elated, but "Elated Garden" just doesn't have the same ring to it. The portions are gigantic - I ordered a sesame chicken, beef and broccoli, and garlic eggplant, and expect to get at least four meals where I overeat out of it. These pictures are after my partner and I started eating. We were too hungry."
