"Very nice easy trail to this waterfall. You will see many people on this trail as it is easily traveled by most people unlike other trails in the area. I would rate this waterfall a 6 on a scale of 10. There are many others in the immediate area that are better views but tougher hikes."
"We head out to find Cedar Rock with a map from the visitor center. Unfortunately, we were not able to find the trail that was mentioned or noted. We ended up finding Grogans falls instead, which was very beautiful and serene. I wish they'd have the trail marked on where to turn to see the falls. Everyone who has reviewed the trail, mentions just needing to watch where other people have gone instead of there being a sign. Sorry we missed it. The pictures look nice."
"Amazingly beautiful place! We were there in late July and the flowers were still pretty. I had never been to a fall with flowers before - just amazing! A couple of things to know before you go - there is absolutely no cell reception in this park - we had Verizon and AT&T and nothing worked. If you have a tracking app and have not download offline map, your GPS will track were you going but will not have a map overlay so it is only good to know how to get back to the staring point vs how close you are to the falls. From the parking lot at the Wildersness center, you need to go turn left at the front of the center, then take the first trail after you go through the gate. You will be walking next to a fence fir a while and then you will turn right on the trail uphill. The exact location to go down to see the falls will shoul up on your left when the trail is pretty flat and you can hear the falls. Sadly there is no sing, but you can see people have been through. I would say it is a moderate trail to go down to the falls that takes about 7 min to get to the falls and is soooo worth it! If you go back up to the trail and go right, you will see a sign that says Cat Gap and if you follow it to the right you will get through an enhanced forest type of trail that leads to an opening that hammock folks like to camp at. Without an offline map of the area, we could not figure out from there, so we just tracked back to the parking lot. If you are a moderate hiker, you can complete everything in about 1.5 hours allowing for picture time. Highly recommend!"
"To get access to the falls you must first go to the Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education. If open building has a map you can follow to the falls. It's about .8 miles from building on trail. If you continue on the trail following Cat Gap Loop you will make it to John's Rock. The loop I believe is 4.4 miles long. Would rate as a moderate hike."
