"Honest Review by a Very Average Mountain Biker - NOT for Beginners! I have been riding East Coast "Blue" Trails for 8+ years. I have ridden in Snowshoe, Kanuga, Post Canyon and the Whistler Bike Park (with my fair share of walking). Please know that these trails are not for beginners! I first visited in May 2023 and it was a dismal experience. It took until November 2023 to convince me to go back and I'm glad I did, because this time around I loved it! The only reason I will not give 5 stars is because the trails are very inadequately labeled for their difficulty. The trail builders are obviously very skilled and advanced mountain bikers who have forgotten what the terms "beginner" and "green trail" mean to the average person. The exit trail "Bear Country" down from the Park to the lot is not for the faint of heart. It's steep, loose, tight, rocky and bumpy. Be prepared for a lot of climbing and exposure to get to the Park and the Back Country Trails. I would not bring a kid or a relatively new biker here. If you love to ride fast and work on/advance your technique, this place is awesome!"
"Berm Park, inside of Chestnut Mountain park is such a gem for this area! While I regularly ride Pisgah and DuPont, it’s a nice change to come up here and ride some more bike specific things. It’s got some challenging spots for some beginners but the reward is worth it!"
"We hiked the Berm Park trail and it was such a fun hike! Great parking and the trail wasn’t busy at all. Well maintained and good footing."
"If you're in the area or need to drive a ways to get here. Go here! Mountain bike trails for all levels. Flowtrails, climbs, jump lines (some scary) but from easy to expert."
"Berm Park is a small bike park inside the bigger Chestnut Mountain Nature Park. It is a 4 mile slight uphill climb to get to Berm Park. The trails are all well maintained. Something for everyone although a lot of the trails were a little above my riding ability. Bear Country Trail is a downhill course and the only way back to the Nature Park entrance. Fun if you are up for it but we ended up walking most of it back. Worth checking out and would recommend."
