"Tried for the first time tonight. Waited 45 minutes for 2 half all white meat chicken dinners. Problem is I arrived about 10 minutes before 5pm and only a few customers inside. How do you not have any grilled chicken ready at 5pm ? They should at least be upfront with folks and advise you when you order when there is going to be a huge delay. I was told 10 more minutes for white meat after waiting 15 minutes, which was clearly false. Too bad, because the food was pretty good. Charcoal Chicken was super moist and garlic wedges were tasty. Grilled corn was a miss, skip it. Having observed other people getting served for 45 minutes, I noticed some servers were far more generous with portions of side dishes than other servers. I think the prices are too steep and service is too slow . Also, they offer a discount to customers who post a 5 star review here- which indicates they need to incentivize customers for 5 star reviews."

"I went to pick up my online order on a Sunday evening and the place wasn’t busy, but there were a few customers dining in. My order was ready on time, BUT, two of the six sauces that I requested (two orders of three different sauces) weren’t in the bag. I should’ve checked my bag before leaving, but oh well. I ordered two 1/2 chicken meals, a small side of plantains, and churros. Everything had a good flavor. My favorite was the yuca. Although it was more dense than I’m accustomed to, the season and flavor made up for any shortcomings. I added a bit of their cilantro lime sauce to it and that made it even better. I heard that it’s also good with their chimichurri. I would try Cookoo Rico again, but I probably wouldn’t use an online order app due to the pricing difference."

"Love the charcoal chicken! So juicy and tasty! The variety of sauces are so delicious! And the fresh sides give you so many options! It’s affordable and great for family meals! Will definitely be back!"

"We showed up early after they just opened on a weekend for an early lunch. We were one of the first customers to enter the door and we ordered the charcoal grilled chicken meal. For the sides we had the sweet plantains, yellow rice and ordered an extra side of black beans. You could smell the charcoal in the dark meat which was juicy and tender. The white meat was much less juicy which was kind of expected. Overall, we left lunch feeling very satisfied and we helped ourselves to extra condiments and the fountain drinks were a great compliment for the meal."
