"First there is a picnic area with charcoal grills and restrooms at the beginning of the trail that is incredibly convenient since technically you can only cook and have food in very few designated areas in the smokies national park. Second, the trail is 2.2 miles one way 4.4 miles round trip. Its 90% uphill, but that means its 90% downhill on the way back. We went when it had rained the last few days so the waterfall was flowing stronger than normal but even then it had a pretty weak flow. I would recommend going to this one after it rains because the water flow may be virtually nonexistent otherwise. The vegetation and streams are beautiful, but the trail gets pretty soggy."
"Easy hike to a smaller waterfall. Less crowded area of the Great Smokey Mountains."
"The climb takes about an hour, but is not too strenuous. The falls are refreshing!"
"Beautiful day for a hike. The last day of winter, and even though the feels temp was 19 degrees, this trail kept us warm the entire time."
"The pin on the map is at the trailhead, not the falls themselves. It’s about a 4.2 mile hike round trip from the Cosby parking area—uphill most of the way to the falls and downhill on the way back. There are lots of water crossings and one pretty challenging descent from the main trail to the falls themselves. It’s a lovely hike."
