Reviews of Bracco's Clam & Oyster Bar
"The best steaks the Ace loves hands down! The ambiance on the mile is unmatched. Love the gazebos and beach front setting for seating! The music on some nights is always a plus!"
"Every eatery on the east side of Freeport's nautical mile has the same great views. What makes one stand apart from the rest is the food. We made a special trip to Bracco's just for the soft shell crab based on another review we read, but when we saw the menu we decided to go for the $30+ lobster roll with a starter of coconut mango shrimp. The shrimp were a little overcooked and the mango turned out to be orange marmalade, but, hey, no worries, we'll just go along with it and not make a fuss. Come the lobster rolls and the presentation is amazing but the meat is dense and dry, way overcooked, chewing more like octopus than lobster. It could have been from frozen or it could have been handled by a chef who doesn't know how to cook seafood. So, to the guy who said Bracco's has the "best soft shell crabs on the south shore" of Long Island, I say you're lucky you didn't try the lobster roll. Total tab with drinks, over $135 + tip (very good service, not the server's fault) for a most disappointing meal. The fries were good."
"Great party in the outside area. Music switches to quiet concert style (with headphones) after 10pm. I sat inside to eat prior to going outside to enjoy. The food and the drinks were ok, definitely not worth the price paid for them. LI Iced tea at $22 a pop for a small cup and margaritas at $18 each for an even smaller size. Seems like a good place to go to dance for a while after enjoying a meal somewhere nearby."
"We had a wonderful experience here. We went on a holiday during lunch and it was delightful sunny day. parking was a breeze for this reasons also. By the water is exactly where we wanted to be. We were welcomed with a smile by a team of hostesses. They allowed us to pick any table at first and then the hostess recommended her favorite table. We soon realized its because a group of graceful Swans love to come visit that side of the restaurant. Kids enjoyed it and there was a calmness and serenity to having them around. They had a 2 for 1 drink special and a lobster for 2 special. Food, service, atmosphere was all excellent. Will return again soon."
"Came here after a spending some hours at Jones Beach. Love it here. If you sit outdoors you get a great view. We had a variety of different appetizers and they were wonderful. They have a variety of cocktails that sound good but I had a draft and Jack Daniel's on the rocks. The drink was pricey $15 compared to the second highest I've paid which is $12 at Dorlan's in the Seaport. I didn't mind because the vibe and the view is outstanding. There was a band playing some good tunes. Watching the boats and jet skis going by plus seeing the seagulls flying was a wonderful addition. The crowd is diverse and friendly. The service is a little slow but it is a big place so it's understandable. Definitely want to go back."
