"Honestly my rating is quite generous after such an unpleasant experience. The food was lack luster with mediocre portions espeacially given the price...And the service...OH MY!! My friend tried to celebrate her birthday here and the experience was terrible despite her putting down a $200 deposit. We were standing for 2 hours and that is no exaggeration. Even with reservations they told us we couldn't be seated. We arrived at 8:30 and were seated closer to 11. The staff was completely out of touch...they didn't even know who their manager was. Never in all my years have I met staff who didn't know their own manager. If you're a younger demographic the Rum Room downstairs isn't for you either. It's definitely a more middle aged environment. I dont even have the energy to go into the prices and why it absolutely was not worth it. But if you still choose to dine here be mindful to ask for an updated menu at the door, because they do not honor the prices on their website."
"I had the worst experience ever in this restaurant on my birthday. I made a reservation for the downstairs, and someone spoke to me, and it was confirmed. When I went to the spot with my friends, only the restaurant was open that night. We tried to make it work at the restaurant upstairs, but the service was deplorable. The bartender and the waitress kept forgetting about our order, and this bartender was crazy. I literally saw her taking shots while she was on duty. The whole restaurant was trying to come at them for their bad service, and I feel they didn't know why they were doing so. In the end, they refunded our money, and we bounced after a lot of talking back and forth. I wouldn’t recommend anyone go to that bar for anything."
"I went back to Cheers Restaurant yesterday Sunday December 10th after prior visit. Once we arrived my date and I were met by hostess and seated immediately. We ordered drinks and shrimp skewers as the appetizer and our wonderful waitress, Jheanell graciously took our orders. She was extremely attentive and very sweet. As we waited for our food, we enjoyed the Caribbean sounds played by the live DJ. As our food came out, it was such a beautiful sight!..I had the oxtail Pasta, my date ordered lambchops, and we also ordered oxtail pizza. The kitchen was gracious enough to bring us their fancy corn bread as a snack and we also received a wonderful bottle of champagne, all complimentary. Our bartender also bought over some heated mini handtowels, just as an added touch of comfort. This was a wonderful way to celebrate my date's birthday. Everyone was very helpful the food was absolutely superb! we look forward to visiting the venue soon and having some great food and great vibes. Thank you so much to the staff there especially our waitress Jheanell and special thanks to Manager Chasen for making everything right on this visit. It was a perfect night!"
"If you are in your 20s DO NOT celebrate your birthday here. An absolutely waste of time and money. Last month I celebrated my birthday here. I made my reservation a month in advance and paid a $200 deposit. I reserved a dinner for a large party for 8:30pm. Since the entire party did not arrive together, we were told we had to wait for everyone to arrive to be seated. Once everyone arrived, we were then told we had to wait for another larger party to leave for us to be seated or sit at separate tables. If I made a reservation for 8:30pm… why wasn’t a table reserved/saved for my party?? Why was the space given to another party?? We had no choice but to sit down to eat at separate tables at 10:30 PM….. TWO HOURS after my reserved time. After that things just kept on going downhill from there. The food was lousy and running out. There are other disappointing things to be said, but this review would be way too long. As a West Indian, I loved the idea of supporting a West Indian business. However, like many West Indian businesses……professionalism lacks. Very unfortunate. Side notes: The bartenders and waitresses were newly hired and don’t know much about what’s going on. The Rum Room Lounge downstairs is definitely not young adult friendly and caters to a more middle aged demographic. I should’ve known better after seeing that Eric Adams was there…"
"Food and overall experience was good. Only thing I didn't care for was the macaroni balls but everything else was great! I will be back."
