Calhoun House Inn & Suites

"My wife & I stayed at the Calhoun House in the Prairie Edge suite this weekend. We absolutely fell in love with the property. The suite was beautiful, loved the rich history of the property & the communication from the owners was top notch. This is our spot every time we return to the area. The proximity to the GSMR is perfect. Looking forward to our next trip up to the Bryson City area & can't wait to recommend & show pics to our friends & family. "What an awesome stay, exceeded our expectations! Ed and Shirley have done an incredible job of restoring and updating this historic building. I love the fact that they uniquely staged each suite with a different theme. Ours was Prairie Edge. You could walk to everything and the special touched (Apple fritters in the room) made it an unforgettable experience."

"Spent a weekend in Bryson City, Calhoun was a perfect place to stay. Everything is within walking distance, rooms were clean, bed was comfy, parking is paved (my corvette was happy). If you’re staying in Bryson this is the place. Thanks Ed , I will be back."

"Very nicely renovated home from the 1920's with four room suites! All the standard amenities of home and the inn keepers are extremely welcoming. Easy 1/4 mile walk to downtown for food, drinks, and shopping. We were in town for a holiday weekend and a train ride (beer train). Definitely plan to return!"

"Wonderful place to stay! We loved that the Tree House was very clean and comfortable. Ed and Shirley are excellent hosts. We were delighted to find that the kitchen was stocked with a variety of items (including fresh pastries, bagels, juices, coffee, tea, soft drinks, and water). Very nice touch! The beds were comfortable, providing a restful night’s sleep, and each bedroom had a private bathroom with soaps, shampoos, and plenty of towels. Having a porch with a view of the mountains was a plus. It was an easy walk to downtown Bryson City where we found nice shops and restaurants. (Ed provided a map of downtown.) We plan to visit Bryson City again and will request the Tree House!"
