Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Bryson City

"We came to Bryson City with a church group to ride the polar express. Upon arrival before walking in, the trash can by the front door was overflowing with trash, the smokers pole was right by the automatic front door, smoke was coming out of it, so when the door opened the smoke was going in and it wreaked of cigarettes inside. After checking in, I was given the keys to room 205 it was the last room at the end of the hallway on the 2nd floor. As soon as I opened the door the smell of marijuana was VERY strong. My children got very upset, as did I! They were crying and wanted to leave. And quite frankly we would have if there had been somewhere else to stay. I had several other people smell the room to make sure I wasn't crazy, they all agreed the room wreaked of marijuana. I went down to the front desk and told the guy down there. He said he was sorry and that the vents are all connected and someone was probably smoking in the bathroom. He went up to the room to see what I was talking about, when he came out of the room he said he didn't smell it, but that his sense of smell may be off. He gave me keys to another room on the 3rd floor. The carpets in the halls looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in a while. I know that you can't control what other people do, and most establishments are short staffed. But my experience at Microtel was not pleasant and it upset my children. With that being said, I would NEVER stay there again!!!!"

"Great location, the breakfast and the shower are horrible but the rooms are clean and safe and the price is good. Just don't plan on getting a good hot shower or a decent breakfast and you won't be disappointed. The cleanliness and the location are excellent and they are priced wonderfully for this area!"

"We've stayed here on several occasions! It never disappoints! The staff are great and always very helpful, the rooms are always clean and nice, and anytime you need something, they're available to help. Breakfast was pretty good, building is easy to access...I have a child in a wheelchair so that's always a plus! The grounds are kept nice and clean and they allow pets...my family loves this place. We will continue to stay here during our visits to Bryson City ❤️"

"While location is convenient…. DO NOT STAY HERE! This property was disgusting and staff and owners were indifferent about it. Bathroom was unclean when we arrived. It was super late and we were exhausted and just sprayed microban everywhere. Following day housekeeping never came, still dirty and no towels. Went to the front desk and was treated like my request for housekeeping and towels was unreasonable and ludicrous. Every staff member was indifferent. Owners were present and didn’t care either. They appeared to be the ones conducting the scant housekeeping in common areas. Breakfast was typical for such a price point (only stayed here bc we came into town last minute and it was the only place with available) but packaged items had no expiration dates. Trash in the parking lot , exterior had a lot of deferred maintenance and side doors did not lock nor have card reader so guest safety is nonexistent. You would be better off sleeping in your car. Do not waste your money here."

"Perfect location for access to Bryson City and GSMR. Rooms were clean and felt fresh. Unfortunately the pillows and bed slept horribly. Staff was not overly friendly and seemed to rather sit and gossip than tend to guests. Breakfast cereal was stale and no hot cocoa was available."
