"Horrible customer service. My co-workers and I ordered 96 pieces of fish for a work event. The following is why I give it 1 star: 1. The fish order was enough to fill one whole aluminum pan but would only only fill half of a second pan. So they said they were going to charge us an additional $2 for the second pan or we could take the fish in one of those single serve plastic to-go containers. However, it was too much fish and it did not fit in the to-go container. We would have to squish the fish down to make it fit. So we had to pay extra for the aluminum pan in order to preserve the fish and keep it intact 2. They provided 2 small packets of tartar sauce. When we asked for more, the lady at the counter said it was policy to give only 2 packets per order. But out order was 96 pieces of fish!! They really couldn’t make an exception?? 3. After the tartar sauce debacle, we asked if we could get a cup of gravy and she said “we don’t give out gravy” Overall, HORRIBLE customer service and we will not be returning. As far if the fish, it was good and fresh. But this is not the only good fish place in town. And they will not be getting our business again."
"This place fell off heavy. I remember stopping by here almost every time I came home from high school in the Early to Mid 2000s and the food was affordable and delicious. The lunch specials were my go to. I began to notice a steady decline in quality after new ownership claimed the spot a couple years ago and all of the familiar faces I used to see in RFH left. This place now is a shell of it's former self with the people who serve your food don't even bother to greet you like you matter to their business. There was only one woman I can recall who was a sweetheart and did her best to take my order. The food is below average at best. The ribs used to be a standout for me, but it doesn't have that same flavor it used to with the other sides looking and tasting just as average. The only 2 things that are still decent are the yams and fish, but even the fish has become hit or miss either being really good or down bad. I can't in good faith recommend anything else in that restaurant. Mediocre food mixed with subpar service will slowly bleed this once great place out of business."
"Great selection on soul food and they plates are well filled. Value for money is definitely seen. However, the food isn't as flavorful as I know it can be; being a cook and a connoisseur of foods, it can be better. But it is decent. There isn't any dine-in option, only takeaway."
"If you want a healthy portion to eat, come here... we got the fried fish, and it is always excellent. Tried the lime beans, yummy!!! I wish I had taken pictures, but I will next time!"
"Great spot for some Soul food. The serving sizes are huge. Dinner plates come with 2 sides & a main dish. They have a variety of meats to choose from, bbq chicken; jerk chicken, ribs, etc. I ordered Whiteys plate which comes with 4 pcs of fish, and 2 sides - Mac & cheese with cabbage. I also ordered yams, and black eye peas with a side of jerk chicken. Everything taste so good. The plates are filling & delicious"
