"Went for fishing but water level is pretty low for now but still a beautiful place on the river. Watched an osprey catch a couple small fish. Nice for just a family outing."

"This gem of an RV park in Fries is one of the prettiest and best maintained parks I have camped at. Our spacious site boasted shade from trees behind us and a sloping grass field leading to a stream outside our front door. The camp host was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area. There was much to do and see in the area, including the New River Trail State Park, the Thursday night bluegrass jam in town, a car show in the park on Saturday, and this was just in Fries. We also discovered an excellent cafe for lunch and dinner - the Windy River Cafe. Good food at reasonable prices served by a friendly and attentive staff."

"Beautiful place for family and pups! It also has the Town of Fries access to the New River Walking and biking Trail. Enjoy the beautiful clear water. Take your chair out in the water and feel the cool water pass under your body. Enjoy the picnic tables or use a blanket under the huge shady trees. The Fries outdoor Market is every Saturday morning featuring seasonal food and garden sales and of course yard sale booths. This little town is simple and yet entertaining to say the least."

"Drove up from Jonesville, NC (one hour away) to check out the New River. Wow, so wonderful! Our Lab (and the friends she made) had the best time in the clear water. We enjoyed the beauty of it all!"
