"PROS: The room itself was nice and quiet, the bed is comfortable and our balcony had a great view of the ski lodge. We stayed in hotel 4 we could literally walk to the snow activities. CONS: The owners invested too much money into the check-in building and not on the rooms. There was visible dirt on the outside of our tub, the baseboards and paint job reminds me of a $400 a month apartment in the middle of the hood. OH AND THE ICE MACHINE!!!!! I have never seen one soo moldy and if it looks like that on the outside i can’t imagine the inside!"
"We have been coming here for ten years but as owners here this will be the last. You need to be a maharaja to afford this place. I went to base camp with my wife. She ordered an old fashioned which was made well and charged fairly. I ordered a draft beer (1 of only 2 options). The beer sucked but no problem. Then I got the bill. 10.50 for a draft beer. Really? Really?Really? Am I in NYC now? This place has gone south fast just chasing the dollar. Value is gone. I feel sorry for the suckers who are just now buying timeshares here now. No reason to come here for us anymore. I know this won’t make any difference for the resort but I will feel much better knowing I am not supporting a money seeking empire."
"This place needs to be shut down. Massanutten needs to stop offering tours. The place is a mess!! The rooms are old and raggedy, there were flying bugs in our room (in December), and there's one microwave in the building for three floors of guests to use. The buildings are not secure. Small children ran up and down the hall half the night. Although there were signs that warned about running in the building, no one seemed to care that many of us were disturbed during the night. Most of the staff is polite and professional except Anne and Larry in the marketing department. Not even complimentary gifts were enough to encourage us to stay any longer than we did. We spoke with several other tourists who had the same or similar unhappy experiences. The marketing staff seems to be disorganized and dishonest. Had it not been dark as heck, we would have left in the middle of the night. The food on the resort grounds was terrible. I think it's called Grille 620. We waited an hour for a nasty cheese pizza. We threw it in the garbage, then went to Romano's up the road. The food was delicious, as was the service. The location of the resort is in a pretty and inviting area. Otherwise, it was a waste of time. Pictures are of the bugs that were in our room. I'm not above seeing bugs, but bugs in cold December are not usual. I live in the mountains and don't see any. This place is just dirty!"
"What a little gem that is so close by. There is so much to do here. Indoor and outdoor water park, awesome game room, several bars, numerous restaurants, zip lines, skiing, boarding, and tubing. Our condo at Shenandoah Villas was incredible. Hot tubs upstairs and down. Fully furnished with dishes, etc. Fireplace and gas grill outside. The location was perfect. 5 minute walk to the slopes. Everyone we talked to was very nice and friendly. Great experience, I can't wait to return!"
"7 days at this resort. It had everything, the rooms were comfortable, clean, and room service was 24 hrs. The amenities like recreation center has indoor pool, spa, sauna, arcade+ this is all free. My kids went Snow tubing they had fun, the water park was nice. Petting farm was nice , horse ride was nice.. a hidden gem"
