"Fabulous little southern style restaurant near the UT campus. Fried white fish filets were delivered to the table pronto and everything was piping hot. The Cole slaw was amayonaising! Just like I like it. Our server was the bomb! Perfect personality and charm and our Valentines date was a night to remember because of Matty. When you go to Emma’s Southern Kitchen be sure to ask for the server who looks like Buddy Holly!"

"The Chicken and Gravy oh my was the best I’ve ever had. The mashed potatoes biscuit and pinto beans and fries was amazing too! Green Beans are a steamed kind that I’m not to fond of but they was delicious as well. Southern food if it’s what you are looking for you have to try this place. You won’t be disappointed."

"We happened upon Emma’s by a happy “accident “ looking for a Starbucks. Passing by Emma’s on the way to get coffee-their sign read …”we have Gumbo” and that’s all I needed! My husband had the patty melt and of course I had the gumbo (which isn’t actually on their current menu but it really could be a solid item to add). It came with the most fluffy homemade biscuit and a full bowl of NOLA style goodness! It definitely did not disappoint! I don’t normally eat biscuits but this one was just like grandma used to make and I made an exception- it was that good! Everything was delicious and fresh. The service was great and the atmosphere perfectly suited to a cool local dive. They have a neat outdoor area that looked like it would be a fun place to hang out when the weather was nice. Apparently, they are also dog friendly because a couple brought theirs and sat on the covered porch area. We normally travel with our pup as well, so this was good to know. I’m so glad we found this place because we never make it to Knoxville. We may just have to find another reason to go just to be able to eat at Emma’s!"

"I went to eat here for the very first time tonight for dinner and I must say I only went here to try it because I was looking for a friend’s apartment in this area on Google Maps and saw Emma’s Southern Kitchen. I read a lot of the reviews and looked at pictures that other hap uploaded then decided I had to go Tonight for sure! I was very happy with our waiter Eddie. He was very kind and polite. He took the time to explain what specials were available and I also ordered a couple of the $1 margaritas. Omg the food was amazing! I wasn’t disappointed at all with the food or the service. They have a one person men’s restroom and a one person women’s restroom that was very clean. You can choose to sit inside or outside in the enclosed patio area so you don’t have to worry about getting eaten up by mosquitoes!! I chose to sit inside where music was playing in the background somewhere from speakers in the walls. I can’t wait to go back to try a lot more of the items on their menu!! I definitely give the food and service two thumbs up! You should absolutely give this place a try!"
