"Update 9/19: I spoke with the Pharmacy Manager and he was super nice. He apologized for the mishap with the tubing and follow up. It is nice to know a company cares that much when they reach out to you! So I would definitely use this company again. Update 9/13 - I spoke with Heather from Nursing Services as she reached out to me. I explained what I was concerned about and we talked a few points over. First, I did not understand when the doctor writes for labs on a particular day like Monday, they do not need to collect it on that date. They are allowed to get it anytime before end week. So that was my mistake in thinking it was to be collected on Monday. Also, it is pharmacy staff that is supposed to reach out 48-72 hours after you start infusions to make sure everything is going alight. She said it is not the nurses who call. She was going to follow up with the pharmacy manager. In regards to the no return call to their nurse line, she said she was going to see where the ball dropped since I left a message. So I very much appreciate Heather for calling to address concerns I had. I would use them again as I always believe in customer service and caring about what goes wrong and what goes right! Thanks for the follow-up. I am upgrading your stars because of your kindness you have shown to me today with your follow-up. Original Post; am sad I have to give them 3 stars. I was in the hospital and needed home infusion so my case manager set this up. I received a call from Pharmacy on Saturday about my med’s to be delivered. She also told me what to set the tubing dial for my med infusions. Then my intake nurse Laura called me and we set a time for Sunday when I would be released. All the meds and needed supplies came exactly like they promised on Saturday. Next day Laura, RN came out and walked me through everything. She was an absolute doll. She was the kindest Nurse and she made sure I knew everything to run my own infusions for the week. We noticed that pharmacy sent out free flow tubing and it did not have a dial on it so right then Laura messaged pharmacy about the mix up and told me someone from pharmacy will call me on Monday of last week. She also told me my regular nurse would be calling me. I had an order for them to draw labs on 8/28. So by Tuesday, no one from pharmacy ever contacted me about the tubing and no nurse for my lab draw. I called their main phone number and got a person and she transferred me to nursing. I left a message about the labs that were due. Nobody called me back, nor did I hear from anyone to see how my home infusions were going. So Tuesday night Laura (the intake nurse) called me and said she would be out to draw my labs because my nurse was sick (who I never heard from). So Laura came out as promised and drew my labs, again being the sweetest Nurse. Still no new tubing or hearing from my nurse!!!! On Friday Janice another RN called to make arrangements to come and remove my PICC. As promised she came on Saturday. She was super sweet and removed the PICC. She was informative and another great Nurse!!!! So that’s it! I had 2 wonderful nurses (both the on call nurses) but never spoke to my regular nurse. Now, with that all said. I am a RN and worked in critical care for 11 years. While I did NOT need help during the week, it sure would have been nice to hear from any nurse just to check up. After all I gave myself 20 doses of a very powerful IV med for an entire week. A little check on me would have been much appreciated along with the correct tubing from pharmacy."
"I couldn't ask for better treatment. I always get my meds on time and my nurse is the absolute best."
"I use Bioscrip for infusion supplies and IV meds so I can’t comment on nursing staff. Yet they are so kind and great at providing me all the supplies I need, communicating when needed during the length of my treatment and IV course. Also always get the meds delivered in a timely fashion, even if it’s 10pm, if they say it will be that day, it will be. Which has saved me!"
"My daughter was a patient of bioscrip (now option care) for about 2 years. She received monthly infusions. They were unable to provide their own nurses due to scheduling, etc. They outsourced their nursing to an outside nursing company. We had the same 3 nurses for over 1.5 years which my daughter (then 10) bonded with and felt at ease and comfortable with. I received a call last spring that they had hired new nurses and wanted us to switch back to their in house nurses. I explained that we didn’t want to do that because she was bonded and comfortable with her current nurses. They had their GM call me and he told me that if I refused to agree to their nurses that they would drop us as patients. Even after explaining that she was a child and dealing with a difficult diagnosis and monthly infusions is difficult already, but changing nurses would be extremely stressful, they dropped us with no plans on where she was getting her meds next. After several months we were able to get set up with a new pharmacy who let us keep our current nurses but my daughter went without meds during the change. I come to find out that they are allowing other families to use the outsourced nursing company that we wanted to stay with!!! I wish I could give them 0 stars! Shame on you for putting money before a child’s care!"
"We had a nurse come out on 9/11/19. He was unprofessional, and made unethical comments. When i called the office of Bio Script, the first person that answered the phone was quite rude. The next person i spoke to hung up on me. I called back an asked for a supervisor. Danny asked for my phone number, then proceeded to attempt to transfer me. I had to stop him and ask him if he needed my name to go with my number. He then laughed and said yes. So now i clearly understand the unprofessionalism displayed by the employees of Bio Script. None of them appear to know what it means or how to be professional in their jobs!!! This type of behavior is unexceptable an out of hand!!!"
