"The food taste was great, the ambience was soothing. We ordered fried ice cream and thought we could get just one small scoop but indeed we got a really big scoop and easily 2-3 people could dig in! Overall it was really great experiece and we will definitely visit this place again!"

"Wanted Mexican so checked out yelp. First in ratings was closed so chose Mecate in Henrietta. The shrimp cerviche looked tempting so ordered that. Now Mexican food is normally flavorful could be spicy and or hot but definitely flavors burst out. Not with cerviche. Lots of shrimp but it was of the tough possibly overdone type which you really had chew on. But the worst part was the lack of flavor. A bit of lime some cilantro would have immeasurably enhanced the taste. But what we got was bland bland. I realized afterwards that someone had reviewed the the food to over spicy and possibly this was the effect of it. Don’t know. The fajita were good…. Though I would have e liked the chicken to have come out sizzling hot on the cast iron plate. The accoutrements for the fajita were well presented and tasted good."
"Best Mexican restaurant in Rochester! This is by far the best Mexican restaurant around. We've tried many and nothing compares to Mecate! We've dined in and ordered take out a few times and every time it's been absolutely delicious! The steak & chicken fajitas are our favorite! The drinks and desserts are just as good! The portion sizes and prices are very good. Service has always been great! We can't recommend this place enough!"
