"Excellent Food, Service and Ambience !!! I live in Atlanta area (with plenty of Indian restaurant options including South Indian Authentic restaurants) and visited my family in Buffalo area for the Holidays. I should say Nellai Banana Leaf is on par (especially with food taste) with some of the best Indian restaurants in Atlanta area. For sure, I'll come here to dine-in every time I visit the Buffalo area.."
"Went there tonight for their unlimited dosai night that they advertised on Facebook. Walked in and was seated right away. They brought out their menu. There was nothing on the menu or an additional/special menu that highlighted that it was in fact their unlimited dosai night. Would have liked them to promote that it was unlimited dosai night. With that said, the food my sister and I did get, was tasty! The service was excellent and so was the atmosphere! This place is almost as good as my favorite South Indian restaurant in Scarborough Canada!"
"Indian restaurants at and nearby Buffalo have much to be desired but this one is an exception. Came here for Indian food with almost zero expectation and was pleasantly surprised with how the dinner went ! The Chennai Chilli Chicken was a welcome change of palate , the chicken was tender and crispy and the sauce was not overly dominant. The Chettinad chicken and parotta is my go to combo at any Chettinad style restaurant and this one didn’t disappoint too . Very well prepared and lipsmacking along with the parotta which could have been a little better . The thalapakkati mutton biryani was by far the best Biryani I’ve had in the Buffalo area yet ! Flavorful rice , great spice blend and good enough mutton pieces , some were really soft and some hard but overall very good ! I hope they maintain the consistency in their recipes when I’m back next and I’m gonna be here soon !"
"I have been to this restaurant in 2019 when they newly opened and loved the banana leaf meals that they gave. Went again last week and was disappointed that they no more serve banana leaf meals. Ordered thapakati biryani, panner fry, chicken 65 and fried rice. The veg was okay. There was a strange smell in the mutton biryani and the rice was too soggy. Chicken 65 was hard to bite and not fresh. Spent about 75$ for food that was not worth it at all. The lighting of the restaurant is very poor, they have very very dim yellow light , you can even see what you are eating. Never coming back."
"If you are looking for south Indian food, this place would be the best to go to. The food reminds me of Place in India specially the south Indian. Savory soups. Creamy pudding. Crispy crepes. Sounds like heaven, right? Well, you’ve only scratched the surface of what South Indian cuisine can offer. South Indian food is about as diverse as the region it originates from. With over 250 million people and dozens of languages found in this region, South India represents a diverse spectrum of cultures and cuisines. Covering South Indian states like Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, and Kerala, this vast region provides the majority of the zesty spices that make up our favorite dishes. Every bite of South Indian food bursts with delicious flavor. Unfortunately, many of these dishes are overlooked in the US in favor of Northern Indian dishes."
