About the Business
Located at 700 Swan Street in Buffalo, New York, the Swan Street Diner is a fully restored 1937 diner serving delicious breakfast and lunch. This diner car, No. 397, was manufactured by the J.B. Judkins Company of Merrimac, Mass and features mahogany trim, porcelain enamel walls and ceiling, and a barrel-vaulted ceiling. Originally operated as the Newark Diner near Rochester, N.Y., the Swan Street Diner has had three previous owners before being purchased by the Larkin Development Group for a full restoration.
The Swan Street Diner is located in Larkinville, once home to the Larkin Soap Company, which made china among other products. The Diner team was able to purchase some of the last plates and mugs made by the Larkin Company for use in the restaurant, adding a touch of history to the dining experience.
Opened in October 2017, the Swan Street Diner is a new addition to the food scene in Larkinville, joining other popular spots like The Filling Station Restaurant and the Hydraulic Hearth Restaurant & Brewery. The Diner offers online ordering for takeout and also caters events at Larkin Square.

"Spec-freaking-tacular. Best corned beef hash I've ever eaten. Sadly, my wife ordered the corned beef hash, so i couldn't try another dish. (She says it's the best hash she's ever eaten.) The fresh, warm donuts were just like my grandma made. Wait staff were warm and friendly and clearly enjoyed where they work. Great all around."
"Give them a chance! I was kinda of icky because the place had a distinctive smell, it might’ve been the rainy day or the cleaning water or whatever but it dispersed as our visit went on. Ordered some delicious French toast with eggs bacon and home fries. Delicious and tasty! Pancake in the side also perfectly puff."
"This place was amazing. Great pancakes, good coffee, great service. The diner is awesome. 1937 diner car. Cool history. I can't say enough good things. We got a cozy wooden booth. Memorable experience."
"Excellent meals. Very tasty, decent prices, generous portions, great service, fun atmosphere. The smothered burrito bowl was amazing and comes highly recommended. The vegan falafel wrap was good, I especially enjoyed the black bean hummus spread. No wait on a Monday morning."
"Classic diner with good diner food. My meal was great but scanning around what other people were eating I wanted to sit for a few hours and try some other stuff they had to offer. Absolutely packed with some waiting to enter and fairly noisy that might turn some people off. Decent coffee. Friendly service. Priced right with large portions."
