The Rose Bar & Grille

"Stopped in after a Bandits game when we realized they were open til midnight. Found a couple seats at the bar and was greeted by Daniel right away. He was incredibly friendly and made awesome drinks. After a while the owner Lisa came over to ask us how we were doing and show us around. You can tell everyone there takes great pride in their job. They had a DJ playing when we got there which was loud, but at the opposite side of the bar so we could still talk. We didn’t try any food this time, but the couple next to us got the egg rolls and they said they were really good. Can’t wait to go back!"

"Went for dinner before a Sabres game which is a perfect spot. The atmosphere was chill and the food was great. But it was the service would bring us back again. EVERYONE was so nice - Jasmine, our server, was so sweet, met the owner (who personally stopped at our table to check on things) and her husband - who was still talking to us and giving us notes on the place as we were leaving. You can tell that everyone there was happy to have us and love what they do. Thank you!"

"Don't waste your time or money; the owner was very interesting; she did not help with the issue we had with our drinks. The foods & drinks were mediocre and over priced. We went on a Thursday evening and they played live jazz music but it was very loud & hard to hear. I spoke to the owner about a complaint regarding the drinks & she told me I would be getting a member of the staff in trouble for complaining; which wasn't my intention. Then she steered the brief conversation elsewhere stating the drinks were inconsistent because ppl steal her shot glasses; which causes the bartender to use different sized glasses and she said that that wasn't fair to her business; she seemed to care less about the issue at hand & more about blaming someone. The drinks came in different sized glasses which made me think I was shorted & still she misunderstood by a mile and did nothing to make things right. my intention was to rectify the problem; I expected quality & got none. Also she told us that the next time we come back she would have drinks on the house for us. The only problem is we wont be back. Also there's a fruit fly infestation that is Unbelievable. For these reasons we won't be back."

"Knowing downtown would be busy with events on a beautiful summer Saturday Buffalo afternoon, we knew finding a spot to eat without a long wait in advance of the Bandits Championship game could be a problem. We looked for locations within walking distance to the arena and remembered seeing the Rose Bar & Grill when we were leaving Hofbrauhaus a few months ago (across the street). We did a google search and saw favorable reviews, so we decided to check it out. It is located inside of the old Fairmount Creamery building. The lobby area is pretty cool with some pictures and history about the building. Once we steeping inside the Rose Bar & Grill we received a warm welcome from the bartender and shortly thereafter by our waitress who gave us options for high or low tables. Some R&B played in the background and the place had a chill vibe. There was a decent selection of food and drink options. The beverages especially were priced competitively, with some domestic beers at only $4. We got the chicken fingers which are similar to most in the area. They did come with crinkle cut fries which I am not normally a big fan of, but these were better than most and were crispy with good flavor. Our server was really friendly While we were there it never got too busy and I would say with a few tweaks this could be a gem, especially given the location (even more so if there are long lines at adjacent restaurants). The indoor space has potential and could see it being busier. There is an adjacent patio space that would be cool if it were utilized for outdoor seating (not sure if it's the restaurants space though)."

"Went with a group and was not disappointed. I had the Rose Burger and a beer and it was tasty! The service was friendly and prompt considering my party size. Got a chance to meet the owners after the meal and that were so pleasant to connect with. Nice ambiance and design layout."
