"We tried The Grove on Rt 16 a couple of weeks ago. The Bavarian Pretzel is just as it was with Chanderson's, although the cheese dip didn't seem the same as the previous beer cheese dip. The mustard dip was outstanding as before. We got Reubens which were outstanding! The french fries are EXCELLENT and highly recommended. The chips weren't as crispy as when Chanderson's was there but possibly one could ask they be cooked a bit longer? The homemade chip dip was like a thick, stiff french onion dip. We are so glad the Grove on Rt 16 is operating at Chanderson's former location, and we will of course be back for more!"
"The wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary there. They were nice and set aside a table for just the 2 of us. We were warmly greeted and promptly sat. Our waitress over all was very helpful and attentive. Their menu is outstanding. I had the porterhouse with fries and a side salad. Which, the salad, you get to make at their bar. My wife had the double minion with the tots and salad as well. We first started with one of the pound+ pretzels. Holy cow, that thing is huge!! Their beer cheese and mustard dippers were amazing. The main course was cooked to perfection. They nailed the temp of both steaks. My wife got a side of lobster tail, and wow. Not over cooked or rubbery. Just nailed it. Overall, our celebration dinner was what we needed. Great service, great food, and atmosphere was down to earth. If you don't go to try it out, you're missing a wonderful experience!"
"This place used to be called Chandersons. It has different owners different cooks. We were there the third week it was open and it is not the same quality of food. The German potato salad was more like dry seasoned breakfast potatoes. Prime rib had more grisle that I have ever eaten."
"The steak was absolutely the BEST I've had in a very long time!! The beef on weck was the best we have had also!! And the giant pretzel for an appetizer is a MUST HAVE!! Definitely on our frequent flyer list!!!"
