"On June 4, 2020, my wife and I contracted LP&S to install a custom inground vinyl liner pool. Nearly every aspect of this installation was substandard. Issue 1 - The pool size was not according to plan. The width in the shallow end of the pool was approximately 10 inches too narrow. When the issue was brought up, we were told that this was to ensure there were no gaps between the wall sections. In reality, the crew did not install a single grade stake to measure and only installed when they deemed it looked right. Issue 2 - The vermiculite base was installed incorrectly leaving the floor of the pool looking like the surface of the moon. When discussed, we were originally told that the vermiculite is soft and will look better in time. 2 years later it still looks and feels terrible. After further discussion, LP&S offered to replace the liner and attempt to repair the vermiculite for their alleged cost of $3000. In other words, we would have to pay $3000 to MAYBE repair their poor workmanship. Issue 3 - We paid $1500 extra to have concrete bullnose coping rather than the standard cap over the edge of most pools. Once the concrete was poured, two LP&S employees entered the pool to pull the forms off and trowel out any imperfections. They left 16 areas around the pool with large voids that needed to be filled in. They filled in the voids with two different colors of grout and neither match the concrete and none of which have been sanded down. Issue 4 - The transition from our existing patio to our pool looks like a ramp up to our tanning ledge 6.5% grade making it unsafe to put chairs around our pool in an area approximately 6' x 20'. There are multiple other issues that occurred with this pool install. We have contacted Mr. Parsons repeatedly regarding these issues and he continues to do little to nothing about the problems. The only thing that he's done is send some guys to add more grout that doesn't match the concrete. He refuses to make any other corrections. We spent approximately $40,000 and since LP&S obviously will not stand behind the workmanship of their product. To repair everything correctly we will have to replace the entire concrete slab (16.5 yard of concrete), the liner, and vermiculite which will cost in excess of $15,000 with a different contractor leaving us paying $55K+ for a $40K pool. We held up our end of the contract by paying them on time per their contract. What we got was a substandard install with poor workmanship, and a lot of headaches. My suggestion for future pool buyers is to read and understand the contract (have an attorney look it over if necessary), ensure that no payment is made and work does not continue until SATISFACTORY completion of each phase."

"We purchased a home in Rock Hill that had an inground pool already. (I called it the hole in the ground.) This pool had not been operational in several years. There was a tree growing in the bottom of the deep end! We needed a new pump, filter, and the stairs also had to be resurfaced. We were considering filling the pool in with dirt. Lancaster Pool & Spa came highly recommended. The owner, Stuart, came out promptly and assessed the condition of the pool. He assured us that his Company could definitely get this hole in the ground transformed into a great pool that our grands can enjoy for years to come. We picked a liner from a vast assortment he had samples of. He recommended a few that his Company had recently installed and even showed us pictures of the finished product. The price of the liner was great as well as the price of replacing the pump and filter. We also added a Salt Generator. He walked us through the maintenance of the pool as well as the operation of equipment. a few months later, when considering a Safety Cover, we called Stuart again and the price of the cover and installation were less than we thought we would be paying. Our backyard now has a beautiful pool that will be enjoyed by our family for years to to come. Many thanks to Stuart and his crew of hardworking guys. "My husband and I installed a above ground pool with Lancaster Pool & Spa last year and we had the most pleasurable experience with Gary that anyone could have asked for. He was informative, answered all our questions, told my husband how and what to do with our salt water system, and gave us a wonderful deal. Maybe some want a fancy show room, but for us service is much more important!! Gave me his cell number and all I have to do is call him and he is there for me!! What more can you ask for?"

"We signed the contract in June 2020 and were told we would be swimming in it by July 4th 2020. The pool was not installed correctly after multiple attempts by the company. My husband and I found broken pieces covered up by dirt and missing screws. Each time we would point these out the owner of the company would send the same people out to the house to fix it and each time something else would be wrong. We finally did get into the pool in September of 2020, but the pool was still not installed correctly. Due to the incorrect installation (missing screws covered up by dirt) the whole side of the pool was damaged in Dec 2020. After multiple calls to the owner, the pool is still not installed correctly and he refuses a refund. They do not fulfill their end of the contract. BUYER BEWARE!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!"
