"I took 3 kids and myself to ride for an hour and we had a great experience! Michael gave really clear concise safety instructions and he kept his eyes on us the whole time to ensure our safety. We loved our horses and it was a relaxing beautiful ride through Pisgah Forest. I was a little worried about the gravel road due to reading some negative reviews about the condition of it. However it was a complete non-issue even for our old van with no 4WD. It was narrow but easily navigated. We also enjoyed walking down the trails afterward and enjoyed the swinging bridge over the creek. Potty before you go…no bathrooms around! We were pretty much newbies and it was the perfect safe experience for adults and kids!"

"I feel traumatized from the guide Juanita during our two hour trail ride. First she told me her credit card reader said my credit card was over the limit in front of the whole group, and later when I checked with my bank, the issue was because the card information was entered incorrectly. The worst part however was being repeatedly singled out and yelled at for doing things I had no idea were incorrect, while on the trail. Such as not sitting up perfectly straight, not having my legs in the stirrups as stiff as possible, and apparently leaning "waaaaaaay" to the left, blaming me for my horse being slower and not keeping up. I knew five minutes into my ride that Juanita had a problem with me but I could not understand why. I was doing my best. No training was provided and my husband, the only other person in the ride, was not told anything he did was incorrect. On top of it all, she had the gall to say "This is just a trail ride, it's not brain science" and told me I "looked cold" when I was afraid after she yelled at me repeatedly. I would not recommend Saddle Up for anyone. I actually cried on the trail for 15 minutes while she was cheerily making conversation with my husband whose horse was much closer to hers. Even my husband commented he had no idea what her deal was and why she singled me out, after the ride. I truly feel awful and this ride was meant to celebrate our five year wedding anniversary. "This was a beautiful ride! Our family including teens really enjoyed the amazing views and well trained horses. Would recommend the 2 hour ride so you get the experience crossing the stream."
