"Very clean and updated rooms. Walkable distance to Myrtle Beach, Waterpark, pizza joint, and Wal-Mart. Souvenir shop and mini mart on first floor."
"Loved the on the beach location! Parking was a nightmare and the hot tubs were packed full all weekend. We were able to use the elevator twice during our 3 day trip because so many people were using it and had to park half a mile away because all the parking was full during our stay."
"Staying here at the Ocean Escape in a 2 bedroom condo. The condo itself is very nicely decorated and was sufficiently clean when we checked in. BEDS: The beds were comfortable other than the lack of comforter on them. They only had the sheet and then a cover as thin as a sheet on top. Extra blankets were provided and since this seems to be a common problem at a lot of hotels was not too big of a deal. Sleeping would have been fine with the exception of these 2 issues. First, the amount of outside light from the 2nd bedroom window and balcony doors. The 2nd bedroom window faces the outside hallway that is lit up like a Christmas tree 24/7 and was quite irritating. No roman shade or blind was provided to block this out. We had to rig up a blanket and stuff pillows on top to try to make the room dark enough to sleep. Second, the noise level from the busy street this sits on is a little irritating as well. Bring earplugs if you choose to stay here. Definitely better on weekdays, but still not conducive to a restful nights sleep. KITCHEN: The kitchen was nice and was plenty big enough to provide the space we needed. They definitely could have provided a few more essentials for cooking like a cutting board, hot pads, and a few more utensils, dishes, and cups. There is no sponge for cleaning dishes and no coffee filters for the coffee maker. Our sink and faucet were loose so that was just a slight annoyance. Also note, there are no spices whatsoever so you'll have to buy even the essentials like salt and pepper. BATHROOMS: Both bathrooms were clean and had plenty of towels. The mirrors had lights on them which was a nice feature. The bathtub is pretty tight, but worked well for my teens. PARKING: There is a lot behind the building to park your car. Well lit, but it still felt a little unsecure. Some pretty unsavory characters were hanging out in the area so I felt a little unsafe at times. The building is secured with your keycard so that helps ease your mind a little. LOCATION: Probably one of the biggest disappointments was the location. Definitely in a run down part of town. I had no idea based on the website pictures that this was the case. They seemed to get shots which do not show your balcony view and the other buildings around you. The Oceanview from your room is not the most picturesque with a dilapidated building in front of it. There were drunk and/or high and homeless individuals hanging out around outside and also as you enter the beach area. They were cussing at each other and acting crazy frequently as we walked by the building next to ours on our way to either the beach area or pool across the street. AMENITIES: The Landmark Resort is pretty dirty and clearly an old hotel that has not seen renovations inside for quite some time. It appears they are updating the outside with what appeared to be new paint and railings. It was difficult to find the pool area and the trek there came with views of dirty floors along with some unpleasant smells. The pools inside were very inventive, but could use some updating and cleaning. The outdoor pools were decent along with the water park. The beach area is not private at all and no chairs or umbrellas are provided to guests. The lifeguard does rent them out for $40 per day, which is quite steep. The fitness center was a joke and only had a couple of treadmills and an elliptical. The dining areas looked really run down, but I cannot speak for the food as we did not try it. I would not stay here again, mostly because of the location. The condos themselves were quite nice, but unfortunately not in a good area."
"The rooms were nice it would have been much better if the floors had been cleaned. Beds slept well. The showers are very small. The tub in the bathroom was slow to drain. After reading reviews last minute we stop to get roach traps. Glad we did. We saw some in the entry ways. I would have rated higher but the staff was the absolute RUDEST people there don’t ask them anything about places to eat or things to do. The answer will be “I just come to work and go home”. At 9:30 am the day of check out housekeeping was ringing the bell. At 10:30 when we were leaving to put our items in the car they were standing outside the door. Be prepared to see any and everything. Some different characters were across the street. There was something going on all night every night. The lifeguard at the beach is who you rent chairs and umbrellas from, the chairs are very worn. The best thing was the ability to access the beach. The pools are small and get really crowded."
"We rented this for two days from Emily through AirbnB. She was so helpful even when we had questions. Everything was perfect. The noise was the typical street noise. Some people had complained but it didn't bother me at all. I don't know what they were complaining about. I love it here. Everyone is so kind and the view is STUNNING! WE LITERALLY WALK to the beach in five minutes or less. At night, the lighting on the steps and To the room was very, very bright. I love that safety feature. We asked for towels, the guy was already on the way before we asked. Everything is going perfect. Room is beautiful and spacious. Sleek appliances too."
