"Can I just say, "Wow!" It's a really cool place to visit, and it's a whole lot bigger than it looks from the outside. It's got a comparatively unassuming front, with so much inside/out back. I headed straight to the zoo first. It's around to the right of the building. I kept walking and walking, and was really surprised by the amount of enclosures they have. The animals all had clean areas and looked well cared for. I got concerned because I've seen "Tiger King," but when I looked into it, the Trip Adviser website said that they meet the expectation of theirs (in terms of animal care), which put my mind more at ease. If you're a bird person, you'll really enjoy it. I was impressed by the number of Australian animals, too. Emu, wallaby, sheep, porcupine, more than one type of fox, lots of big breed birds (cockatoo, African grey, finches, quail, etc.), fish, and so much more. I visited on a cold and rainy day, so I had the whole place to myself. The store was full and had lots of things to choose from. Lots of honey, dried goods and spices, seasonal/garden decor. I have no idea what the animal was. I believe it was mislabeled as a "kinkajou," but it was the most beautiful living creature I've ever seen!!! I may have to go back just to see it again. It was stunning and striking, but shy. This visit made my day so much brighter. Well worth a visit."
"This place is a country store and a exotic animal sanctuary in the back. Plus is free to see the animals. You give a donation and that's it. There's no waiting lines and is all clean I love the store it has ice cream inside and whole lot more to offer."
"My family loves coming here. It doesn't matter what time of year. We love seeing all the animals. We have been coming for a few years now and have watched this place grow. It's awesome to see the family (employees) care for these animals that need rescuing. Definitely a must see even if you're passing through. It's free to visit the animals (they are adorable). They do ask for donations and we try to donate every time. Like I said we have been coming for a few years. And watching it grow has been great."
"This is a very interesting place! It’s cool but could definitely use some tlc. I feel like with some upgrades it could be a really amazing place. I love that all of the animals are rescued and you can tell they are loved. We did the guided tour and the kid that did it was very well informed and he acted like he loved the animals very much. The store has a lot of cool stuff as well and the ice cream was delicious. I just feel like maybe they need more staff to better take care of the place. But it was most definitely a cool and educational experience!"
"Love this place! As an animal lover and mama I was ecstatic. The place is much bigger than I realized. Place doesn't smell horrid like other places I've been. The animals are happy and well taken care of. Many of the birds love the attention and will talk or come towards you when you talk to them. The cockatoos love to dance for you. I saw a variety of feathered friends I've never seen before. It was chilly today so some animals stayed in their little houses. It was a pleasant experience and I will definitely be back. They had a guided tour going on which seemed more hands on for those looking to be more up close and personal."
