"More than a great host, Laura was an Angel in me and my friends’ adventure while we got stranded at Beech Mount. We were planning on going to ski on MLK’s day evening, but a snow storm didn’t let us go up or down the mountain. Laura provided us with food and a warm and safe shelter where to spend the night. Her lodge is the right place to go if you are traveling with a 7 to 9 people group."

"We planned to drive up to Beech Mountain for skiing and back in the same day. Unfortunately , a heavy snowstorm blew through, leaving my group trapped on the mountain without any sleeping accommodations. After calling around, we were fortunate to come across Deer Trail Lodge and its lovely owner who offered us a place to stay on extremely short notice. The home was well-stocked, cozy, and beautiful. Would certainly recommend to anyone who is interested in staying at Beech for skiing or snowboarding. It is about a 10 minute drive to the ski resort. Thank you to its kind owner!"

"My friends and I were stranded on Beech Mountain due to weather conditions. Bumper to bumper traffic which left us needing to leave our car for the night. Unsure of where to go, Laura was more than willing to house the 9 of us. Not only did we each sleep comfortable in this cozy cabin, but Lora was willing to house us within an hour of being notified of our predicament. The cabin was a warm place to stay, but Lora's heart was warmer."

"This place was amazing! My friends, husband, and I travelled to Beech mountain to ski for an afternoon and we got stuck in a snowstorm and couldn’t get anywhere. It was getting dark and I called around looking for a place to stay for the night; almost all places were booked. Lora gave me a call back and said, even though her other guests had just left, we could stay the night if we were okay with a mess. She was flexible and gracious to us so that we weren’t stranded out in the snow storm. She is kind and a good host- the house is amazing and accommodated 8 of us to stay safe, comfortable and warm. We are so grateful to her and her hospitality as well as the beautiful home! So much to do and so comfortable."

"What a charming home! We were traveling with our family and what a clean, comfortable place to be! Kitchen with all you need. Sleeps 8 comfortably with high thread count linens, plus towels ,toiletries and extra linens if you need them. COMFORTABLE BEDS!! Great internet and cable for football fans. TV's in most rooms! Quiet neighborhood. Close to hiking trails and all the sights. To top off this home, a fire pit and wood ready to go for guests! Hot dogs and s'mores were enjoyed! Look forward to visiting again!"
