About Us
Oakland Cottage is a charming lodging institution located at 74 Oakland Road in Asheville, North Carolina, United States. Our Blue Ridge Parkway Bed and Breakfast offers private rooms with ensuite private full baths, Roku TV, WIFI, in-room coffee, and robes. Some rooms also include a mini-fridge and microwave. Guests have access to a guest kitchenette, off-street parking, and complimentary coffee and teas in the dining area. Rates are based on double occupancy, with additional guests welcome for an extra fee. Well-behaved children and pets are also welcome.
The Blue Ridge Room on the first floor features a King Bed, private ensuite bath, and a private back deck with access to the yard. The Dogwood Room on the first floor offers a queen bed and a private outside entry and porch. The Little Garden Room is a cozy Queen bedroom with a clawfoot tub/shower combination. The Garden Room is spacious with a king bed, daybed, and private deck. The Magnolia Suite is a large option with a King bed, sitting room, and clawfoot tub/shower combination. The Rose Room 7 is decorated in a lovely Toile Motif with a Queen Bed.
Each room includes amenities such as Roku TV, WIFI, coffee maker, bathrobes, and complimentary breakfast served in the dining room. Wireless internet is available throughout the house, and onsite parking is provided for all guests. Rose Room 7 & 8 can be combined as a two-bedroom, two-bath Suite when booked together. "Oakland Cottage was the perfect place for our birthday weekend. Close to everything but still in a quiet spot. Everyone on their team is amazing. Great people to start the day with each morning. Breakfast was a delicious surprise each day and it was so nice coming back to a sweet treat each evening. Can't recommend enough."
"We had a lovely stay at Oakland Cottage! We brought our dog and had lovely amenities for him, including a daily wrapped milk bone (a nice touch). The breakfast was lovely and we especially loved the earl grey snickerdoodle cookies! It was only a few minutes to drive to downtown, but far enough away that it was quiet and private. We had comfortable bedding and a great stay overall. I would 100% go back!"
"We had a girls trip weekend and it was amazing. The room was perfect for the four of us with a deck to enjoy. The breakfasts were truly lovely and delicious. Jim and Erica were wonderful, fun, and gave us a complete history of the house and the area. We loved all the details and helpful guide about where to eat downtown. "Jim and Erica have gone to great lengths to develop their establishment into a warm, comfortable, welcoming place. It’s not too fancy nor too rustic. It was just right - nicely appointed and finished with attention to detail. The rooms were spacious and well cared for. The pastry chef prepared breakfasts were so delicious and portioned just right - you could probably get through the day without having a big lunch - maybe just pick up some snacks for your day’s adventures. Oh - and there were plates of homemade cookies for each room greeting you everyday. Our hosts were very personable and available to meet any needs you may have. Thank you Erica and Jim!"
"Jim and Erica are wonderful hosts. Everything was just what you expect from a bed and breakfast. The breakfasts were made with the eggs from the "ladies out back", and the hosts were very accommodating to our food requests/modifications. Cookies were awesome. Great location to get into town by car. Room 6 is very spacious, but just watch your head if you are tall in the bathroom and shower. Thank you!"
