"I have been a member of YMCW for more than six years and truly enjoying all my classes. I love the Y for many different reasons but I will point out a few: 1. Excellent instructors 2. Safe environment 3. Flexible hours 4. Sense of community and more YMCA is a gym with a mission…..Become a member today."
"Disappointing Experience at the YMCA I recently visited the YMCA with excitement, looking forward to playing basketball. However, my experience took an unfortunate turn when I encountered a staff member who was less than welcoming. Upon entering, I politely approached the staff and asked if I could play basketball. To my surprise, the response I received was rather rude. The staff member seemed to assume that I was a regular visitor, denying my request in a manner that suggested I had been turned away before. This was my first time at this YMCA, and I had no knowledge that the gym was occupied by kids. When I explained that it was my first visit, the staff member remained uneasy and unsympathetic. In contrast, I have been to several other YMCA locations where I have been turned down politely, understanding that circumstances sometimes prevent access to certain facilities. I want to clarify that my intention is not to blame or criticize anyone individually. However, it is important to note that the greeting I received was far from the warm and inclusive atmosphere that the YMCA is known for. The particular staff member I encountered was an older lady with darker hair and glasses. Unfortunately, her demeanor and lack of professionalism left me disappointed with the overall experience. I believe that a welcoming and inclusive environment is crucial for any community-based facility like the YMCA. It is important that staff members greet newcomers with kindness and understanding, helping them navigate the facilities and activities available. Regrettably, this was not the case during my visit. I hope that the YMCA takes steps to address this issue, ensuring that all visitors are treated respectfully and given accurate information about facility availability."
