The Gym

"My wife and I have been members of this facility for 6+ years. My wife has a passion for fitness, and recently started the process of opening a franchise fitness club in the Blairsville area. The owner of The Gym, Chris Moore, approached us 2 weeks ago when we were there working out, and asked if our two teenage boys had memberships. This has never been an issue since we have been going here, and not even Michael has ever said anything to us about it because both boys are old enough to work out. We replied to Chris, "No they don't, why is there an issue?" Please keep in mind he approached us to ask this directly in front of our children so of course immediately it makes our kids feel like they did something wrong which they did not. My wife pointed out to Chris that he purposely approached us to create an altercation because we have been told by others in the community that he has said nothing but negative things about us opening our own facility. Chris did not like this, and so he told us both "I am terminating your memberships please leave this facility." We could not believe what we were seeing unfold in front of us because this would be like the owner of a burger restaurant banning the owner of a new burger restaurant from their establishment! We have always helped to keep "The Gym" clean whenever we we're there using the facilities, as well as donating over $1000+ of toys for the children's day care which we never even asked for compensation for and donated because they didn't have anything in the daycare. The facility currently has several unsanitary & unhealthy things that are wrong with this Gym but we always just try to keep it clean for our sake and never had anything bad to say about this establishment until this most recent experience. We never even campaigned or advertised our facility in or near this establishment just so we could keep things professional, but it seems Chris needs a couple of lessons in that. Needless to say, we just wanted to post this review to reflect how customers really will be treated when somebody has a personal vendetta towards someone who is trying to better their life for their family and for themselves."

"None of the equipment gets updated or fixed. The yearly fee to keep up with the equipment doesn’t get used for fixing anything. Three treadmills have been broken since joining this gym (2 years ago) and the equipment is old and breaks a lot. I really with there was accountability here but since there’s no competition for this gym the owner doesn’t see the need to keep up the gym or it’s equipment. It’s also filthy in the bathrooms and there’s black mold everywhere through the ducting system and on the ceiling. My hope is that this review will get management and the owner to do something to better this place. Competition or not it’s important to have a clean and maintained environment for any business to have a good reputation."

"Stopped in today to talk and look around, a member let me in, I asked is there an employee/ staff member he said I haven’t seen anyone for awhile. A lady did come up to the counter after about five minutes, first thing she said was” don’t ask me any questions cause I don’t know anything “ that dairy’s turned me off. Then I read reviews about memberships and problems canceling. Sure would have liked to have talked to someone there with knowledge about the GYM!"

"I actually go everyday and it's like my second home. Everyone there is family to me! Come see me, I'll always bring the best energy"

"The gym part is great. Clean and well organized. Has plenty of exercise equipment. The only complaint is that the website says it has a tanning bed, but it's never working. For the money you pay monthly, it should have all amenities up and going."
