"Very informative. Everyone is so kind and helpful . I have had dry eyes for several years; using over the counter drops never completely stopped my issues. Under Dr Brimer’s care my eyes are so much better."
"I was referred to Dr. Brimer by my regular eye doctor after we had exhausted multiple treatment avenues for my Sjogren's and dry eye. He said he had heard of a dry eye specialist nearby and I should give them a shot. My first visit was costly (paid in full at the time of the appointment), but pleasant enough. Staff was nice. I was given a book to read and many instructions to follow, which I did. I had a follow up treatment a week later that was not as pleasant as the first. Not the treatment itself but the demeaner had changed. Again at the end of the visit I paid the costly bill. I then ended up canceling any further appointments because it was always difficult to get in touch with business and the treatment was too costly with too little benefit. In my case, no benefit, but I did continue to to follow the exercises suggested and use the many different products prescribed, none of which have really helped. Some of which, have actually made my eyes worse. I don't like writing negative reviews, so I was willing to just cut my losses and let it go. Then I received a bill 9 months after the fact. The bill did not come from Focus Eye Care. No one from Focus Eye Care, nor any of her staff ever told me I had additional fees on top of all the fees I already paid them for the services received and the products purchased. The bill came from a collection company. Upon investigating why, I found out in addition to the out of pocket I paid up front for services, additional charges were sent to my insurance company and those were rejected, as they do not consider the services offered medical but cosmetic. Overall, the office is nice and gives off a lovely zen vibe, and if you are looking for a spa/boutique experience this may be the perfect fit for you. But if you are looking for medical help for your condition, you may want to find an eye professional in a more professional environment. Update: In response to Dr Brimer's reply: I do not appreciate the mentioning of any treatment detail (although only vaguely) in a response to an online review. In response to only having one of the in office special treatments and not the remaining three and not letting the office know that the cost of these was an issue- I did inform your staff that the reason I canceled my appointments was due to the cost, not on one occasion but on three because although I canceled all three follow-ups after the initial visit they were only canceled one at a time and I had to call back before each one and request to cancel again each time. At no time was I ever made aware that there were financial resources like "Hope for Sight" available, nor that if I could not afford the special treatments that "fill-in" options were available. As for the initial evaluation costs, I was also informed of the $99 out of pocket and had no problem with that. However, people should be aware that the initial visit is not $99 but $479 plus any of the products we are encouraged to purchase if we want to see any improvement in our eyes, which was an additional $623 (on the first visit). Prospective patients should be aware that "$99" could really mean $1102 in reality on the first visit. Had I felt that the treatments and expense was worth it and helpful, there is no amount I wouldn't spend to take care of my eyes. However, the results need to justify the expense and be communicated up front and that was not the case. The actual cost of the IPL treatment I received and the $99 were the only cost that was communicated up front. I do not suggest you should not be compensated for your time. My initial visit was approximately 2 hours of which about 30 mins was spent with you, the rest with your very pleasant staff. With regards to "Cosmetic codes", you misunderstood. I stated that they do not regard the treatment provide as a medical treatment but a cosmetic one and therefore do not cover them. My regular eye doctor has confirmed, my eyes have greatly improved the past 6 months with the steps I am taking on my own, so I do again thank you for the book. It has been helpful."
"Dr Briner and her staff are amazing. My eyes have improved dramatically since I’ve had treatment here. I have several issues. Her staff is friendly, professional, and caring."
"Dr. Brimer has given my dry eyes a tremendous relief- she is super knowledgeable and the treatment works! I went in with an eye emergency and reception was able to squeeze me in immediately- front staff is Incredible! Dr. Brimer will be my eye doctor for life - she is the only one I trust now! I cannot even explain how good my eyes feel every day now- Thank you !"
"After 10+ years of over the counter dry eye treatments, suggested by other doctors, failed... Dr. Crystal Brimer was thankfully recommended to me. Dr Brimer's knowledge of dry eye conditions, from diagnosis to an incremental and individually tailored treatment plan has proven to reduce my dry eye condition and improve the quality of my life (e.g. I'm able to safely drive my car). In the 3+ years I've been a patient, I've found Dr. Brimer to be down to earth, easy to speak with and always focused on improving my treatment options."
