Reviews of Greenbrook TMS NeuroHealth Centers
"My daughter received TMS about a year ago. She was having daily suicidal ideation and was in therapy and taking various meds for over 2 years. I found out about TMS randomly online and found that my insurance company would approve it for my daughter since she was in therapy and had tried several different meds without much success. I would say at about her 14th or 15th treatment, she began to smile again. We began to hear laughter. Her scores improved significantly and she reached remission status. Do you know how that feels as a parent? The weight of the world was lifted off my shoulders! More people need to know about this therapy and people shouldn’t have to wait until they have had to take several meds in order for it to be covered. It was more effective for us than meds! Wonderful staff as well! North Raleigh location ROCKS!"
"Fabulous experience form start to finish! Every staff member I interacted with was empathetic, kind, and knowledge! Intake handled everything with insurance seamlessly so I never had to worry about a thing, which was SO nice and took out all the hassle. It was super easy to make and alter appointments so I could always have sessions that were convenient for my schedule. COVID protocols we're always followed so I felt safe, which gave me added peace of mind. TMS worked wonders for me and I haven't felt this good in years!! I loved getting to see everyone's smiling faces each day and it was honestly a highlight to get to spend 20 minutes each day relaxing and watching HGTV during session. The treatments themselves were painless and I got used to pretty quickly. By the end I barely noticed it at all. I cannot say enough good things about Green room TMS in Cary!"
"Highly satisfied with treatment here. From the beginning at my consultation and every appt in between, their staff and doctors have been great and exceeded my expectations. I was a little hesitant of the treatment based on what I feel are false reviews, but Shayleh Maddy and Nichole P were all amazing. From the get go, Shayleh explained everything to me and answered all my questions that I had-- and there were a lot. Prior to scheduling a consultation, I did my research online. She reassured me that like with any treatment, there are risks involved, but with them being so insignificant the pros outweighed for me. At my first treatment, It was a different sensation but I adapted well to it and kept going to my daily treatments as prescribed. I would HIGHLY recommend TMS treatment and if in the vicinity of Raleigh, schedule at this office. They will make you feel at home and very well taken care of. These girls are great!"
"Everyone was super nice and very professional. I came late a handful of times and they never turned me away because of that. The treatment worked great for me. I highly recommend them. Regarding Steven Harris' review, he wrote: "Very expensive, very time consuming, unlikely insurance coverage and no measures of success. A placebo effect at best. Total waste of money." His comments are largely based on ignorance. Let me address his points one at a time: "Very expensive": misleading. It is expensive if you don't have pre-approval from insurance, but they let you know before you start treatment if you have pre-approval. If you don't have pre-approval it is because you have not tried other, less expensive, treatment options first. "very time consuming": false. My treatments lasted less than 30 minutes each. "unlikely insurance coverage": misleading. There are certain criteria for getting insurance coverage. If you don't meet these criteria, it is because you have not fully explored other, less expensive, treatment options. The insurance companies are just trying to get the best results for the least amount of money. I would expect nothing less. "no measures of success": false. Every week they give you a written survey and the scores of that survey determine if you are getting better or not. "A placebo effect at best": false. This treatment is FDA approved (for certain conditions) and there are clinical studies showing that some (not all) people benefit from this method of treatment. "Total waste of money": false. Some (not all) people get better with this treatment. I was one of them."
"This is not a review for this facility, it is a comment on the one star review by Mary Safety. While it very well may be that this doctor is "lackluster," doctors generally do not supervise or conduct TMS treatments, a clinician does. Usually the doctor will be there for the first visit to determine placement of the device, and may check in occasionally over the course of treatment, but you do not see the doctor at every treatment. The depression scale surveys should be filled out periodically as they are the best way to measure progress. It is very typical to not feel any results until at least the 10th treatment. The person administering the treatment may adjust the strength of the pulses as treatment progresses. Often, people feel some relief of depressive symptoms and then plateau, and then suddenly improve towards the end of treatment or even after treatment stops. It will be different for everyone. The reason that I am writing this is that I don't want people to be discouraged from trying TMS because of a bad review that does not appear to be entirely reasonable. There appear to be only two facilities in Raleigh that do TMS treatments, and although it does not work for everyone, it can be a real life saver. Please do some research on what a typical course of treatment looks like, before passing judgment."
