Reviews of North Raleigh Mental Health and Wellness
"For this to be a mental health practice they lack respect and compassion for their own workers. The owner is rude and so are some other staff."
"Hands down the best mental health practice I’ve ever dealt with! Jackie Hudson is compassionate and actually cares about her patients. She listens diligently and found the best prescription combination for me after just a few months. She’s shared some of her personal life experiences that have helped me tremendously in the wake of my divorce and on the road to rebuilding myself and my life and I honestly wouldn’t be in the place I am now without her. Thank you Jackie - you are amazing and an inspiration!"
"ETA (Oct 2023): I haven't been a patient here now for almost a year and they are STILL trying to say I owe them money. We paid our balance, were told we were good and I wasn't even in their system anymore, and HAVE A RECEIPT, yet I've been contacted twice saying I owe money for previous appointments. Either they don't have their adminstrative stuff together still or are trying to get more money. --- Let me start off by saying this was my psychiatrist for over seven or eight years and they were SO AWESOME when I first started coming. But ever since covid, the quality of care here has tanked. My final interactions with this practice show how little they listen to patients. I was prescribed Klonopin by Dr. Casey to help my sleep and digestive problems. I was told by Dr. Casey, as I've had issues with finding medications that help me sleep, that if it didn't work, to increase up to a certain dose to "equal" what it was replacing. I was not warned about any side effects other than I might start feeling more "depressed," then which I should stop it. She scheduled a follow up with her PA Kristine. Not three days later, I started experiencing an IMMENSE feeling of emptiness, so I stopped taking it. My appointment with Kristine came during a treatment and my boyfriend had to relay that I NO LONGER WANTED to be on Klonopin and wanted to go back to my original medication. My boyfriend had to be the one to relay this because I was not lucid enough due to my treatment hitting harder than usual. Kristine, very rudely, would not accept what he was saying, told me I shouldn't be scheduling overlapping appointments (which I've always done due to a two hour down time during my treatment), told me to go BACK on Klonopin, and would not refill my original medication. I resumed the Klonopin and days later, I started to experience the same symptoms along now with panic attacks and worsening sleep. I sent a message on Thursday to the front office to get in contact with Dr. Casey and was told my message was forwarded to her. I heard nothing Thursday so I sent another message that Friday, which again, I was told it was forwarded to her but I got no response. I spent the weekend without help. I sent a final message on the following Monday morning, to which her office staff again said it was forwarded but she had been out of town the previous week (why I wasn't told the previous two times I contacted them, I don't know). They schedule an emergency appointment with Dr. Casey just a few hours later. That appointment, I was met with the most unprofessional attitude I have ever experienced from a healthcare provider. My mental state was messed up from little sleep, panic attacks and Klonopin getting pushed on me, yet Dr. Casey still felt the need to speak down to me ("we are going to have an adult conversation or no conversation") and yell something along the lines about her mom having her chest cracked open the past week and that that was her bigger priority. She was putting her personal problems ahead of my own in an appointment ABOUT ME. I was seeing red and yelling at that point, so my mother had to finish most of the conversation with her. Eventually it was agreed I go get a second opinion, and I left for a provider who doesn't bring their personal life into appointments. Also should note the administration staff is horrendous. Don't ever expect to get in touch with someone quick (or at all even). I'm also aware Dr. Casey buys things (like for gifting) for certain patients. Granted, she let me borrow a $1000 piece of medical equipment for five-ish years and I didn't have to pay, but there seems to be favorites that get better and special treatment."
"North Raleigh Mental Health and Wellness is one of the most professional, attentive and supportive mental health services groups I've had the pleasure of working with. They have done nothing but go out of their way to meet my needs in a timely manner, not just for providing therapy but also in pain-in-the-neck administrative matters such as completing paperwork my employer requires. I can't help but feel some of the negative reviews are exaggerated or potentially misrepresenting what happened, just based on the overly hostile tone - certainly no business is perfect and will screw up from time to time, but I will very happily vouch for NRMHW. I personally have been treated with nothing but consideration and care by the the North Raleigh team, in all matters big and small, and trust them far beyond any therapy business I've gone to here in Raleigh. Thank you so much to North Raleigh team for all that you've done for me and special shout-out to Kristin Brandon, my amazing therapist!"
"I have only recently started being a patient here at North Raleigh Mental Health. Dr. Beasley is wonderful in wanting to help patients become medication free and healthy in a natural way. They work well with professionals and treat you like a person and professional when in the office. I also see one of the counselors Mr. Williams and he is excellent, had even changed his schedule to work better with my work schedule. Only after a few short months I am noticing positive changes in my life. The office staff is great and personable. I have always felt comfortable there. What is even better is that they accept the state health insurance. I recommend this office to anyone who wants to get healthier."
