Reviews of Piedmont Behavioral Services
"AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I have been a patient here for for 6+ years. I've seen countless PA's and therapists that have come and gone over the years. Every 6 months there is a new "Dr" and visits with them are informal but they are usually nice and helpful; they work there a while until they find a better job and then move on. Dr Rasul is pretty nice but hes just pushing a pen and refilling medications. There is no in person contact. Everything is online. And it is impossible to get up with anyone by phone or get medical records sent to another agency. I have tried for more than 6 months to get records sent. I almost got kicked out of my college program bc they wouldnt send my medical records. Ive even paid the $35 they requested for records release and they still havent sent them. I have had to contact Health and Human Services to open a case against them as this is a blatant disregard to my HIPPA rights. I honestly dont know what else to do but I will not stop until I receive my records. I'm pretty sure there is no record keeping up here which is why they wont send them to me. I honestly cant believe this place is still being allowed to practice medicine. After 6 years I finally left because they ripped me off my Adderall with no notice and told me I had to have a test to prove my ADHD; a test that was not covered by insurance and cost $900 out of pocket. Now all I want is my medical records - it shouldnt be that hard. Unfortunately, because the good therapists and PA's move on so quickly, the bad ones get left behind. I continued to go here because it was easy, they are convenient; letting them bill my insurance for who knows how much; . The last PA I had here didnt ask about my mood or behavior; just my meds. They treat you like you are less than a human being. Im about to graduate college, with a degree in behavioral health and they treated me like I just came out of a mental facility and had no idea about my own state of health, nor did they care. And if you are reading the reviews to try to decide if this is the place for you take my advice and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. There are so many good facilities that actually care about their patients; And if you for some reason do decide to come here. If you read all these bad reviews and still decide to come here, well, you cant say no one warned you. . Edit: the only reason this place stays in business is because they run a suboxone clinic out of it. If you do need suboxone please know there are many providers who can help. Please dont allow a practice like this to keep you from getting help. If you dont need suboxone, and are really in need of behavioral health or treatment for another mental disease, PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE . Edit #2 I will be filing a grievance to the NCBLCMHC on this facility today. I suggest that you do the same if you find yourself here writing a bad review. If you need help feel free to reach out to me @theadventuresofdrewandamanda on social media. I will be happy to help you file a grievance and refer you to a better facility. I now have a degree in behavioral health from NCCU and Im working on my LCAS. I would never treat my patients in such a way. And I will do everything I can to see that this facility makes substantial changes or is shut down. Please join me. EDIT #3 I have been trying to get my records now for about a year. I have now contacted a lawyer, and started an open investigation. Still i can not get my records. I even had my new Dr request. They keep trying to make me jump through digital hoops. Sending me to websites that have no activation code or wont allow me access. They have auto signed me up for zoom appointments to talk to me with no imput on my schedule whatsoever, just to CYA. Its clear they have no intent of giving me my records, or they would tell me to just come get them."
"FOR YOUR OWN WELL BEING, DO NO BOTHER!! Communication is TERRIBLE! They either ignore you or don't answer calls. You might get lucky and get started but trust me you will either get ghosted or not hear from them for a YEAR like I did. Got a random message almost a year later asking if I was going to be at an appointment I NEVER made, feels like a total f you considering I had been trying to see my doctor desperately for months with no avail only to open up my laptop one day and see a message a year later about a random appointment I never scheduled and missed."
"Called their number this “practice” feels like a scam! I feel like this “medical” practice is not ethical. They have one provider under the guise of mental health services. They have managed to have ONE licensed provider. Please stop using their services they need to be reported!"
"Absolutely abysmal. I did their evaluation and they told me there was no way I had ADHD or Autism. Went to a different doctor at another place and was instantly diagnosed with it. Their customer service is awful. I was always left on seen even when I threatened to kill myself. Psychiatrist constantly ignored and dismissed what I was saying. He really has the worst bedside manners. The appointmens were always rushed, not even 5 mins long. Stay far far away from this place if you want mental help. My therapist was great though."
"Dr. Rasul is very nice, but it should NOT be this difficult to get in contact with someone. They have a phone number, but if you call you're told to do whatever is necessary online instead of having a simple conversation. They have a direct messaging app, VSee, where you have the video calls and can message with some sort of receptionist, but if you attempt to ask a question there, you are directed to their website to fill out a form. If you do not write an email confirming that you filled out a form, they will not address the form you filled out even with your name and email attached. Your actual clinician will contact you through an OnPatient invitation, but will subsequently only contact you through Health Gorilla and will not interact on OnPatient at all. Health Gorilla's identification was not working, meaning I couldn't see my doctor's messages, so I called customer support, and they didn't pick up. I then emailed, and they responded that my provider needed to resend the invitation to join Health Gorilla. Thinking this would be a simple task, I messaged the practice on VSee. They responded with a link to a bunch of support categories, none of which actually fit my issue. I submitted a form, then sent my little email saying I'd submitted my form. All I want is to be able to reconfirm my ADHD diagnosis so my insurance will cover the medicine I need to function, and this process makes it feel as though the practice is actively trying to make getting help as difficult as possible."
