"Dr. Bai made a mistake that is costing me $1,303.29. A few months ago, I started going to Carolina Spine for upper back pain. I had a few visits with Dr. Bai, and I asked for a MRI to see what the issue is. I have a pain that keeps increasing, and the MRI would’ve helped in getting the images needed to see what is causing the pain. Dr. Bai ordered the MRI, but he ordered one for the lower back (I needed upper back). I went in to review the results, and he talked through lower back images. He didn’t even realize he had made a mistake until I pointed it out that I came in for an upper back pain. It seemed like I was a number that he needed to get through. Not a human with a pain that wouldn’t go away. The radiology center I went to charged me $1,303.29, even though I still have to redo the MRI for the correct area. I called my insurance, the radiology center, and carolina spine to get this charge resolved and all the places come to one conclusion: the mistake happened with Carolina Spine Center, they would be the ones responsible for remedying the issue. I have tried to work with them, and the only thing they can say is that my future visits will be waived. The most I have paid for a visit was around $95. Paying $1,303.29 for a doctor’s mistake is not right. On top of that, if I was treated this way, why would I want to go back. The goal of this review is to share my experience in case it helps future patients."

"I have been going here for more than a year because it was the first place I found after moving and I was desperate for help with my back issues. I have accepted horrible medical care from this place and I’m fed up ! Dr. Torres is consistently late to EVERY appointment I scheduled. I don’t mean 15 minutes late I meat 30-40 minutes late EACH TIME ! I would come out of the room they had me in to make sure they didn’t forget me, to witness Dr. Torres with other patients. They have Dr. Torres seeing several patients at the same time and then rushing through my appointment for the “sake of time.” The other huge problem is trying to reach the Cary office since the two front desk people are overwhelmed and can’t keep up with the amount of people calling and coming in. I needed to cancel once last minute and I kid you not it took me days to actually speak with someone. You will get a voicemail that says “leave a message and we will get back to you in 24/48 hours” LOL it’s a doctor’s office and people may need URGENT help !!!!! I specifically had an issue recently that may have required me to come in as an “emergency appointment” (last minute appointment) but of course reaching them would be impossible. I mentioned this to Dr Torres and he became defensive telling me certain things may be an emergency to me (like having such a bad back flare up you can’t move for two days) but to them it’s NOT an emergency. An emergency to Dr Torres is “you are dying , and need to call 911.” Imagine having your doctor tell you that (since he’s trying to make excuses for the fact that his office is poorly run) when he charges you and your insurance company thousands of dollars per appointment. How absolutely inappropriate is that ? There’s also no designated office manager or anyone in charge so good luck if you need any forms filled out. Basically this is a factory, if you’re ok with being treated like an auto part in an assembly line then go here. For everyone else do yourself a favor and AVOID this mismanaged disaster of a practice. You deserve better medical care."
