"My husband called their office today to make a new patient appointment since we just moved here. The receptionist was SO rude. She started off by saying “you do know the next appointment for Dr Rue isn’t until the end of November.” My husband said that was fine, he was new to the area. She asked him what the appointment was for and when he said he wanted to establish a new primary care doctor and she told him that wasn’t a good enough reason and that Dr Rue wouldn’t see him for that. Like, what? My husband just said what’s the point of a doctor and hung up."

"I have been a patient here almost 20 years. Dr. Hummel, replaced by Dr Cleary. Cant do any better. However, I cannot schedule an appointment with my Dr. You see, I have not been in need of a Dr within the last 3 years. Let me back up, I went to schedule a physical with Dr Cleary, as i have over the last 14 years maybe. Karen says, oh, can squeeze you in, in 9 months. Oh wait, you have not been here in 3 yrs, makes you a new patient, so your wait will be longer. Oh, so sorry, Dr Cleary is not taking on any new patients. You will need a different Dr.Thanks Duke Health. I am gonna wait a year, what if I had not been there in 2 1/2 years, they schedule me 9 months out and then just 3 months before my appointment. They cancel , cause i have not been in, in 3 years. I think there is some small print in the Hippocratic oath."

"I called twice to get an appointment for a possible elbow injury, and the lady making appointments said I could get an appointment based on what insurance I had. When I told her I would be paying out of pocket she basically told me oh well then no. Oh and the appointment wouldn't be until November (even though there are several locations). She said yeah and an xray wouldn't be included in the price so we really can't help you. Even though I would be paying up front she did not want to help me. Pretty crazy..."
